I was up early again this morning to
welcome back ‘ Reina’ for the day, we then all went back to bed for another
nice lie in; after a quick cup of tea and a piece of toast we sorted ourselves
out for the day ahead, Brenda has the washing machine on, its a good drying day
as there is just a little breeze come along. I’m up in the office/studio on the
WWW checking out the ‘E.Mails, Facebook messages etc, after typing & posting
the ‘ Blog ‘ - we have another at home day taking things easy.
Today it’s still warm and sunny but a
little cooler ( 30 degs only !) as the bad weather that its hitting the rest of
Spain is now forecast to hit us also tomorrow, its an ‘ Atlantic ‘ storm with
strong winds, thunder & lightening and heavy rain, then on Thursday we are
back to normal and getting warmer! Watch this space.
This evening for our supper we are having
individual ‘ Steak & Ale Pies ‘ made with ‘ Bishops Finger Ale ‘ ( Iceland
! ) with sautéed Mushrooms & Garden Peas mixed with Carrot Batons, along
with ‘ Pont Neuf - Thick Cut Chips ‘ On Wednesday its going to be ‘Grilled
Gammon Steaks’ then on Thursday its TBC before Friday’s ‘ Fish Night’ and
Saturdays ‘ Steak Night ‘
Some not so good news this morning is that
the ‘Euro’ has dropped over 3 points over the last couple of days and then
again this morning, 2 points to its lowest level in over 30 years! Our next ‘ Pensions’
cycle starts next Monday with two more to follow over the next week, it means
that we will be down over 40% - watch this space.
This afternoon we will be watching the
Tennis from Wimbledon and then later the 4th Stage of the ‘ Tour De
France ( See the route map below ) - ‘ which today is from Saumer to Limoges over 237 kms, the longest stage
in this year’s Tour, is could be another sprint finish, watch out for another ‘
Manx Missile ‘ finish!! Yesterday our friend Terry did go out to watch the Tour
as it was passing through his neck of the woods, around Caan, on its way down
to the Loire Valley and the ‘ Anjou ‘ region.
See above some pictures from the other
night as the Manilva Street ‘Time Trial’ passed our house, as you can see!
The village is now very quiet during the
day, all the shutters on the ‘ locals’ houses are down, the children who are
already on holiday don’t come out to play until later in the evening, the old
men stay inside the ‘Bars’ along Calle Mar’ for their morning drink, during the
day and in the afternoon all the ‘ locals’ go down to the ‘Playa ‘ with their beach
towels & umbrellas, then in the
evening business picks up as the families come out for late Tapas.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
