Just a little lie in this morning for both
of us, after a quick cup of tea & a piece of toast I shot off down to ‘
Castillo de la Duquesa’ to ‘ Studio 1’ to broadcast ‘ live’ my ‘ Sir Malcolm’s
Saturday Classic Session ‘ between 11.00 am to 1-00 pm; it was the first time
that I have done the show on my own, in front of the four screens with the
Mixing Deck under my control I was ‘ flying’ the station for two hours, my
Co-Producer ‘ Lady ‘ Brenda meanwhile back up in sunny Manilva, in what is
going to be ‘Studio 4’ in the not too distant future, she was listening in and
rang after the programme ended to say that it was my best so far – 9/10 – try harder
next time! Watch this space and don’t forget to listen in!!
We have another glorious day down here on
the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ with a small breeze making it very comfortable as the temperature
is due to reach 26/27 degs this afternoon, Sunday is the same, if not hotter,
and next week we are in for a prolonged spell of hot sunshine here in sunny
Manilva.
In ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ this afternoon ‘Reina’
is being dropped off for a sleep over but ‘ Scruffy’ is not now joining us as
Rose is not very well, ‘ Chispa’ has been in this morning keeping Brenda
company, next week ‘ Reina’ is back with us for five days from Monday to Friday
then for two weeks we are on ‘ holiday’ playing with the folks down here on the
‘ Costa Del Sol’ Watch this space.
This afternoon we are watching on ‘ Channel
4’ the Flat Horse Racing from Epsom as its ‘ Derby Day’ and the Queen is
presenting the trophy to the winning owners for the first time, yesterday it
was ‘ Oakes Day ‘ with some very exciting racing. No football this weekend but
next Saturday the ‘ European Championships’ kicks off in France.
This evening for our supper we are having ‘
Grilled Fillet Steaks’ cooked on a very hot griddle plate ‘ Med-Rare’ garnished
with Asparagus Spears & sautéed Button Mushrooms, whole Green Beans and
more twice-cooked ‘ Frits’ On Sunday after ‘ Burning In ‘ the new electric oven,
as recommended in the instructions booklet ( over 20 languages !) and working
out all the symbols and settings, I’m going to make a dish of my famous ‘
Boulangere Potatoes’ to ‘ Christen’ the oven! We are having ‘Pan-Seared’ ' New Zealand - South Island Lamb
Cutlets' that I will finish on top of the Potatoes later, Brenda is producing a
selection of fresh local vegetables to go with the meal, lots of Mint Sauce on
the side.
After supper we will settle down and find a
film to watch.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
