It was an early start this morning and
after a quick cup of tea and a piece of toast we set off on our travels with the folks
across to Malaga along the coast road past a sparkling Mediterranean; the sun
was out earl and by lunchtime its due to reach 35 degs+!
After parking in the very large underground
car park next to ‘Calle Larios’ we walked along to the ‘ Atarazanas Market’ to
take in the sights, sound & aromas of the very large Fruit, Vegetable, Fish
& Meats on display; its the second best in Spain ( Barcelona 1st!)
and the range its just hard to believe. See the picture above.
We then made our way to the ‘ Constitution
Square’ to ‘Cafe Central’ for a nice small bottle of chilled Cava; it was then
time to find in the maze of narrow streets the ‘ Cervecerias Los Gatos ‘ where
I had booked our table for lunch; we settled in and I ordered a bottle of a
chilled ‘Moscatelo Cava Rosado’ Brenda, Jack & Lyn had the large ‘Garlic
Prawns’, Norah & Jenny had the ‘Grilled Chicken Breast’ and I chose a ‘Grilled
Entrecote Steak’ which came sliced as you can see in the pictures above. Later,
on the ‘ house’ we had a creamy Egg Custard dessert with a glass of ‘ Malaga
Wine ( Sherry !) and then as we were leaving a small Gin & Tonic with a
sweet Lollipop!!
It was then time for a bit of culture, we
walked the short distance to the Cathedral ( See the picture below ) and then after getting back to car I
took the folks on a tour around the city before finding our way out of Malaga
and back along the coast road to sunny Manilva! One ‘ Helluva day!!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
