We managed a nice long lie in this morning
as the village is very quiet, the church bells don’t start until 11.00 am! For
breakfast I had ‘ Campo’ Fried Eggs with Smoked Bacon & toast, Brenda had a
small ‘Smoked Bacon Butty’- we are having a
leisurely morning catching up with the chores before getting ready to go
out for a late lunch with the folks; we have booked at our favourite ‘ Sunday
Roast Lunch’ restaurant “ Kokomo “ – they very kindly fitted us in when we were
there on Friday! We are going to collect the folks from their apartment and
stop off on the way for a nice cool glass of ‘Cava Rosado’ at the ' Champagne & Sushi Bar ' on the Estepona promenade.
At ' Kokomo ' today there was ' live ' entertainment with a very good Australian Pianist/Singer which made Jack's day as he happens to be a very good pianist in his own right! Jack & Lyn started with Prawn Cocktails and I had mine topped with Smoked Salmon, Jenny had a very nice Chicken/Feta Cheese Salad with Chorizo,Green Beans & Cherry Tomatoes, Brenda starter of a thin savoury 'Crepe' containing Asparagus Spears wrapped in Iberica Ham, topped with Hollandaise sauce was the star! We all had the ' Roast Sirloin of Beef ' with a large Yorkshire Pudding except for Jack who choose the 'Roasted Belly Pork' - it all comes with Goose Fat Roast Potato Wedges, a very good finger licking Gravy and a selection of ' Aldante' Vegetables - as you can see in the picture above! The Red Wine that I choose was the ' Australian Rosemount Shiraz ' to make the folks feel at home!

Last night we went down to ‘ Puerto de la
Duquesa’ a little earlier than normal and I was very lucky and found a tight
spot to park the ‘ fun-buss’ right next
to the marina entrance, which meant that the folks only had a short walk. We
went for a drink first and I found a nice spot on the second level overlooking
the marina at a restaurant that we have not tried before ‘La Buen Vida ‘ The ‘
La Travita’ where I had booked is on the third level, as we sat having our
drinks I looked at the Menu’s and decided to stay there, I popped upstairs and
cancelled our table ‘ due to sickness’!
We had a very nice meal sat outside ‘ a la
fresco’ watching the sun go down and the full moon appear; Jack & Lyn had a
very nice ‘ Seafood Paella’ that they have been fancying, Norah & Jenny had
Fillet Steaks, Brenda choose the ‘Grilled Fillets of Sea Bass’ and I treated
myself to the ‘ Char-Grilled Rib of Beef’ with ‘ Frits’ . see the pictures
above.
We then came back up to the village for a ‘night cap’ bur couldn’t get
in as all the bars were full and there was nowhere to park! We ended up back at
the ‘ Manilva Green Aparthotel’ in the
bar overlooking the mountains, valley and the sparkling lights of Sabinillas.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
