I was up
early this morning to see ‘Reina’ back for the day, she shot upstairs and got
into her duvet across the foot of our bed, I followed and got under our duvet
and we all promptly fell a sleep for another two hours! This was because the
early morning deliveries had already arrived and ‘Charlie’ had finished his
first thing in the morning repertoire of calls, so it was very quiet in the
village. Well that’s our excuse!
The weather
forecast for the rest of the week and over the weekend is looking good with
none of the wet stuff, its going to be dry, crisp and sunny, the only problem
is that by Saturday the tail end of the very cold weather, hitting the UK at
the moment is due to sweep across Spain and its going to get a lot colder; we
will need all of our ‘Winter Fuel Allowance’ to keep us warm! I’d like the
Minister Ian Duncan Smith to be our guest over the weekend in our guest bedroom
on the second floor – it would change his decision very quickly!
So back to today,
after breakfast I shot out to the local Greengrocers for some fresh local Plum
Tomatoes then down to the butchers for tonight’s supper ‘Escalope of Chicken
Breast’ which we are having with a few dry-sautéed thick-cut slices of Baked
potato along with some Green Vegetables – at the same time I also bought some
Chicken Wings for another day and also the Cubed Beef for tomorrows ‘Beef
Bourguignon’
When I got
back to the house I then made a fresh batch of my famous ‘Tomato Salsa’ using
the Plum Tomatoes – see the picture below.
In the last
couple of days we spoken to Tim over in Old Colwyn on the Skype video, he
called via his mobile in his car, as he was driving with Ben and then later we
made contact; he was mainly ringing with some bad new about a friend/ex-staff,
a very loyal and hard working lady, who’s grandson was very ill in hospital, he
has since died at the age of 18,our thoughts go out to them and all their
extended family at this very sad time.
On the way
back from our sales shopping yesterday, I forgot to say, we called in ‘Nuevo
Pueblo Guadiaro’ above Sotogrande and ‘raided’ Iceland again! One thing that we are
missing at the moment if that their frequent shopper discount cards have not
arrived yet!
Last night
after supper we started to watch a film with Robert De Niro and John Travolta
“Killing Season” from 2013 but Brenda did not like the violence so we changed
over the true story of a runaway train in the USA with Denzel Washington &
Chris Pine “Unstoppable” from 2010, we seen it before but its still very
exciting to watch!
PS; Our
first postcard of 2015 arrived today from our friend Lillemor in Sweden , keep them coming and receive one
back from sunny Manilva!! See below.
