I took
‘Scruffy’ out for his early morning walk first thing and we then had are usual
breakfast, later I’m going to cook a ‘Brunch’ of English Pork Sausages &
Smoked Bacon, Campo Fried Eggs, Mushrooms and Tomato with Chorizo. See the picture below of the " Pirate Chef"in his 'Lair' !!
The weather
this morning is fine and sunny and the forecast into next week is more of the same,
lets hope it stays fine for the big celebrations next Tuesday for the “ Three
Kings ” when there is a street parade along Calle Mar.
Last night
after supper we settled down to watch the various TV progammes on the main
channels which all come live from the main ‘Plaza Del Sol’ in Madrid when on
the chimes of mid-night you eat 12 grapes by tradition.
Here in
sunny Manilva everywhere closes and there is a big ‘Rave’ party down in the
Congress centre, during the evening there are lots of bangs and fireworks going
off so we had a lot of problems with ‘Scruffy’ and have to really look after
him and give him lots of love and attention all the time – no problem there
then! He is being picked up this morning and is back with us next Monday for
another sleep over; at lunchtime ‘Reina’ is with us for a long afternoon and
then back into her normal routine of Tuesday & Thursday next week.
Now for
some not so good news, during the night at about 2-00am we had a very loud
‘Bang’ from outside our bedroom window, some local ‘Nutter’ had blown our
letter box of the wall by the side of our front door and destroyed it by using
an explosive devise of some kind!!
This is not
unusual in the village I’m told by Mano,in fact on Xmas Eve our neighbors box
opposite our house was given the same treatment, but it’s a historical story
about him, ours is just willful damage but is still makes us very mad and
leaves a nasty taste in the mouth!! We are not happy and I’m going down to the
police station later to report it; see the pictures below.
Back to
today and nicer things, at the moment we are watching and listening too the
traditional ‘New Days Concert’ by the ‘Viennese State Orchestra’ from the “
Golden Hall” in Vienna on TVE 1.
Over in England in the ‘Premiere League’ Liverpool welcome Leicester , Manchester City welcome Sunderland and Everton travel to Hull .Liverpool could only draw 2-2 City won 3-2 but sadly again Everton lost 2-0.
This
evening for our supper we are having ‘English Lamb Shanks in Minted Gravy’ with
a dish of ‘Boulangere’ Potaoes, sliced Baby Carrots & Garden Peas mixed, Baby Brussels Sprouts and
some more finely sliced Green Beans. We will then catch up with all the news,
sport and weather detail before hopefully finding a film to watch.See below the finished meal;
PS; We have
just arranged a regular transfer for one of our ‘Pension Anullities’ from our
old bank in Colwyn Bay as today the Euro is at its highest so far for 2015! Les
hope it goes higher as next Monday another one of our transfers is due into our
Spanish bank account!!
Thoughts
for the Day; See above.
