A VERY CRISP AND SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY;

SUNDAY 28^th/ DECEMBER 2014.

I took ‘Scruffy’ out for his first walk of the day, it was rather cold to say the least, the cold front from England is sweeping down across France and then Northern Spain and catching us in the next few day so we are in for an unusual cold snap with the temperature possible going down to single figs for the first time in many years! Later it was crisp as I went out down to the Wine Centre.

For breakfast Brenda made ‘Campo’ Poached Eggs on Toast with a mug of hot steaming tea; I then got myself shaved, showered and freshened up, put my outfit on for the day and set off down to judge the ‘Xmas Pastry Competition’ I was the Chief Judge along with two local ladies, one from the Pastry & Bread shop in Duquesa Marina.

It turned out that at the same time in the Theatre upstairs it was the judging of the ‘Manilva Wine Competition’ and in the Art Gallery downstairs they had the local ‘Photography Competition’ - on the walls!!! So in true ‘Spanish’ style it was bedlam!

The pastries started arriving slowly and the judging commenced over an hour late! It took place in front of a very large crowd after they had introduced us, we had to of course taste all thirteen of the desserts and mark them independently, in four categories with marks out of ten! Are you following?!  Then the three judge’s votes were totaled and the winner announced later – thankfully we all agreed on the first and second places!!

Meanwhile back at the house Brenda was left in charge of ‘Doggy World Heaven’ – ‘Scruffy’ missed me and made a big fuss when I eventually retuned bearing a gift of a ‘Wine Broach’ for Brenda and a bottle of the local Manilva ‘Muscatel’ Wine; check out the pictures above and later some of the Wine & Photography Competitions.

Over in England it’s more football today with Manchester City welcoming Burnley, Everton traveling across to Newcastle and Liverpool playing Swansea tomorrow.

Brenda has requested for this evening supper a ‘Turkey Fricassee’ so I’m just going down to make it and will finish posting the pictures on the Blog later

' Scruffy' was picked up this evening by Adrian & Rose,he was rather excited to see them! He's back with us next week on Tuesday & Wednesday for a two day sleep over which means that he's with us and 'Reina' on New Years Eve, they are both very nervous so we will have to look after them with lots of hugs,love and kisses!

PS; I've just come off the Skype video after speaking to Andy,he's off next week so he and Maria are joining us for supper tomorrow evening and at the same time he is bringing 'Charlie' the African Grey Parrot to stay with us for the week! Its going to be a busy week here in 'Doggy World Heaven' and 'Bird Sanctury Paradise' !!
