A CRISP AND SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE FIRST WEEK IN DECEMBER !

MONDAY 1^st/ DECEMBER 2014!

We had another good lie in this morning as its the last chance for this week; it was also rather windy and cold to start but the sun is out and its going to be nice for the rest of the week if a little colder - 18/19degs! The breeze is coming from the Atlantic through the Straits of Gibraltar and then turns the corner and hits us!

Just a little catch up with the weekend, on Saturday lunchtime we finally had a visit from Mano & Anna, Mano’s on holiday for two weeks, so we had a god chat and gossip and our first ‘Anniversary’ drink of the day with them – they are possible joining us for supper one day this week for my famous ‘Steak & Kidney Pie’

On Sunday we went for a nice walk with Chispa and ended up at Bar Rojas sat outside under the ‘Sonbrajo’ in the warm sunshine where we met our local councilor Mario and his wife and had a little chat. Then in the evening for supper we had ‘Turkey Escalope’ with savory Basmati Rice, finely sliced Green Beans( we do like our Beans!) and Mushroom sauce. No luck with the films to report over the weekend.

So this morning after our usual breakfast I made a fresh batch of my now famous ‘Minestrone Soup’ and got this evenings supper on the go, we are having ‘Entrecote Steak Poivrade’ – I will make the creamy Black- Pepper sauce this evening, with it we are having more Green Beans and some twice-cooked ‘Frits’! On the sports front over the weekend Liverpool just beat Stoke 1-0 Everton lost at spurs 2-1 and Manchester City beat Southampton 0-3. Over here Real Madrid beat Malaga 1-2 and Barcelona won 0-1 at Valencia.

Two of our pensions have arrived in our Spanish bank account this morning, just a little down on last month as the ‘Euro’ has picked up this morning – more due in next Monday!

On Sunday I posted on ‘facebook’the picture taken before we went out on Saturday evening for dinner, we have been amazed by the response with over fifty ‘Likes’ and loads of comments from family, friends and ‘locals’ here in sunny Manilva – so I then posted a ‘Thank You’ picture and the same thing happened all over again!! Many thanks to all for the very kind thoughts.

PS; Den over in Skelton has even been very clever and has straitened the picture?!

PPS; Our first 'Guest' of the week has just arrived 'Chispa' is playing around my feet! We then went for a walk with the dog and ended up sat on a bench in the ' Plaza De La Vendimia' in the warm sunshine and clear blue sky - like a couple of 'Pensioner's ( In age but not mind!)
