MONDAY 8th/
DECEMBER 2014.
A little
lie in this morning as we haven’t another chance this week as we are busy
everyday; the sky’s blue and the sun is out, the rest of the week is the same,
so far, up to the weekend, the only problem is that its now colder during the
night with temperatures dropping into single figures for the first time but its
sill 18/19degs during the day! This means that this morning Brenda has just put
the winter duvet on our bed!!
It’s very
quiet here in sunny Manilva today as it’s a Bank Holiday “ Dia De La Inmaculada
Concepcion ” - so we are having at home day taking things easy; this morning
after breakfast Andy called in and fixed the large PC,the wireless connection
had crashed, at the same time he updated the smaller PC to a new ‘Google Crome’
as well as sorting out some more problems on both of the PCs – thanks Andy!
This means that we will no be able to make contact again on the Skype video with
the folks over in Australia
The menus
for this week have now been agreed with the vegetable preparation chef (
Brenda!) Tonight we are having my special house ‘Tortilla’ as we have just
received some fresh Campo Eggs, with just a Mixed Salad, on Tuesday its Gammon
Steak and then on Wednesday we are going to have a “ Rack of Lamb with a Mixed
Herb Crust ”for a nice change, Thursday is find something in the fridge day
before ‘Fish Friday & Steak Saturday’
Another one
of our pensions has surprisingly arrived in our Spanish bank account this
morning despite it being a Bank Holiday over here?! The ‘Euro’ has picked up at
the same time so it’s very nearly the same as last month – a good news day!
We have a
busy week in ‘Doggy World Heaven’ as ‘Reina’ is with us on Tuesday &
Thursday and then on Saturday for a sleep over meanwhile ‘Scruffy’ is here on
Wednesday for the day and then back on Friday for a three day sleep over until
Monday morning which means that we have them both on Saturday night! And
‘Chispa’has just called in as normal so Brenda has just been for a short walk
with her along Calle Mar as I’m typing the Blog back on the large PC.
Last night
after supper we found a good film to watch which was produced, scored and
directed by Clint Eastwood - “ J.Edgar Hoover ” from 2011 with Leonardo
Dicaprio in the title role with support from Armie Hammer,Naomi Watts,Josy
Lucas and Judy Dench as his mother; it was nominated for many awards but won
none?! It’s a fascinating story of the man who was at the head of the ‘FBI’ for
nearly fifty years – the problem is that I did not like the color that the
picture was shot in by ‘Clint’ is too dark and pensive?!
