A VERY HOT AND SUNNY MANILVA AT THE START OF A HELLUVA WEEK;

MONDAY 23rd/ JUNE 2014.

A nice lie/roll over this morning after yesterday’s celebrations, then after our usual breakfast we had the Monday morning planning meeting with the staff ( HODs!) It’s a busy week with the ‘Red Limousine’ as we have ‘Big Bri’ to pick up at the bus station over in Marbella?! - on Wednesday evening after Brenda’s appointment with the ‘Cardiology Consultant’ at the ‘Costa Del Sol’ hospital at 5-00pm.Possible a trip over to ‘La Linea’ to drop Brian off for his interviews on Thursday morning. Then on Saturday evening late on we are collecting Josie’s Den from the bus station to re-unite the ‘Queen of Skelton’ with her ‘Consort!’

This week Scruffy is here on Thursday for the day and then back on Friday to stay with us until Monday morning; this morning Chispa came calling and we have just been for a short walk around the village, tonight we are not going down to Sabinillas for the “ Noche San Juan ” festival as there is a lot of walking!

After out meeting I shot around to the butchers and picked up some freshly made ‘Lomo Albondigas’ – ‘Pork Meatballs’ – for tonight’s supper as later this morning I made a new batch of my very famous ‘Tomato Salsa’- we are having them with Spaghetti and Garden Peas. For tomorrow nights supper I picked some very nice ‘Pork Loin’ sliced medium which I will pan-fry, at the same time I also bought some Chicken Wings for Tapas!On Wednesday morning I’ am making a large pan of Chicken Curry, Thursday is a wait and see day before Fridays ‘Fish Night’ with ‘Fillets of Hake’

On the weather front today it’s very hot and sunny and the forecast from Wednesday onwards is getting better and hotter, tomorrow there is a large depression coming in off the Atlantic across the whole of the country with lots of the wet stuff but it looks like it will miss us down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol’ in sunny Manilva!

As for the sport this weekend I will catch up with all the results tonight, today it’s the start of Wimbledon’ but we don’t get any coverage on the Spanish TV Channels.

Over the weekend one film that we caught was “ Goodbye Bafana ”from 2007 – the story of Nelson Mandela’s imprisonment and his eventual friendship with his prison guard over the years, a true story with some of the facts changed, Joseph Fiennes played the guard, Diane Kruger is his wife and Dennis Haysbert is ‘Nelson Mandela’
