SUNDAY 1st/
JUNE 2014.
Well the
rains came but not when we were expecting them; at 1-00am this morning the
heavens opened with a typical ‘Spanish’ rain storm that lasted for two hours
non-stop, it was so heavy that the locals drinking in ‘Bodegon Andaluz’ two
doors down our street where trapped inside until it stopped, not that they
minded!
This
morning as I took ‘Scruffy’ for his first walk of the day you would not know
that it had been raining, we are back to normal with the skies blue and the sun
out in a warm and sunny Manilva!
Sadly
Brenda did not have a good night as she had a coughing fit due to the paint
smell in the bedroom so she had to move upstairs to the main guest bedroom in
the middle of the night; this morning she has not coughed but is a little
shattered to say the least, we have no plans for the rest of the day so I will
try and make her take it easy – which is rather hard to say the least!
Last night
I was able to find and log-on to the big grudge fight via my ‘Wiziwig’
all-sports connection to see Carl Froch knockout George Groves with a huge
right hand in the eight round of their re-match in front of a British-record
80,000 fans at ‘Wembley Stadium’ The knockout punch was being described by all
the pundits as the best right-handed punch ever thrown! It was one ‘Helluve’ shot!!
The atmosphere in the stadium was terrific.
Yesterday
we received a nice ‘Newsy’ E-Mail( Thanks!) from Gillian after she finally got
home to Torquay; she stopped off in Bristol to see her daughter, on her travels
she uses buses, trains and planes and also boats when she lived on the ‘Isle of
White!’ Den and Josie are also the same as they make their way across country to
get to the planes!
Meanwhile
over in Australia this morning as I was typing the Blog I noticed Jack and Lyn
come on-line on the ‘Skype’ video; so we have just had a good long
catch-up/chat, they have just arrived in Cairns in Queensland which is on the
coast by the ‘Great Barrier Reef’ after going past Brisbane and onto
Rockhampton and then Townsville – so far they have traveled 4462kms so they
only have another 10,000kms or more to go!!
Lyn’s
daughter Annette and her partner are flying up to Cairns from Melbourne for a
couple of days to see them before they set off on the next long leg of the
adventure across to ‘Mount Isa’ on their way to Darwin in the ‘Northern Territory’
right at the top of Australia next to the wilds of ‘Arnhem Land’!! Safe
traveling and keep to the left!
Tonight for
supper we are having ‘Escalope of Turkey Breast’ pan-fried in foaming Lemon
Butter with a savory Basmati Rice which I making later with Green Beans and a
rich creamy Mushroom sauce on the side. We will then watch the news, sport and
weather updates before settling down to find something to watch; on Monday evening
later there is a programme about ‘Spanish’ people working abroad –this week its
‘Wales’- on the trailers we have recognized a few place already!
PS; The rain is back with thunder and lightning !
