WEDNESDAY
11th/ JUNE 2014.
We had a
little lie in this morning as the sun was not crashing in through the shutters,
it’s a little overcast and close today due to a small depression coming in off
the Mediterranean, the temperature has dropped by 10 degs overnight but by
tomorrow its getting hotter every day and over the weekend its going to be very
hot 37/38 degs!
After
breakfast I made tonight’s supper with the help of my assistant/commis chef
from the vegetable section; “Chicken & Mushroom Tarragon Casserole” – the
‘Mis-en-Place’ picture's before and after above shows most of the ingredients ready to prepare the
‘Dish of the Day’ – Onions, Garlic, two sorts of
Mushrooms,Carrots,Celery,Leeks,Green Beans & Peppers and Smoked Bacon
sippits – all finely diced with a little seasoning of Tarragon; a friendly slug
of White Wine ( Thanks Brenda!) with a rich Chicken & Vegetable stock, the
Breast of Chicken is diced and tossed in seasoned flour before browning off, a
dash of Tabasco & Lea & Perrins all add to the taste – then cooked off
and left for tonight’s finishing touch ‘Chopped Parsley’ ( from the ‘Parsley
Queen) along with ‘Broccoli Florets,Garden Peas and’ Parsley New Potatoes’!
Brenda has
just been for a short walk around the block with the dog and is now up on the
roof terrace ironing the sheets; no plans for now except shopping on Friday
morning and picking Gillian up from the Bus Station over in Marbella
So this
afternoon we will be catching up with our reading and after our supper we will
watch the news and sports updates before settling down to find something to
watch. Joyce is traveling back tomorrow so we wish her a safe journey with ‘Health,
Wealth and Happiness’ to follow! See you later in the year.
