MONDAY 9th/
JUNE 2014.
No lie in
this morning as we had to be ready to welcome ‘Scruffy back for his day out
with us; he’s arrived and is sat at my feet, as usual as I’ am typing the Blog.
After breakfast each morning our first job is to water the plants in the wall pots,
no automatic watering system here just Brenda with my assistance as the junior
gardener, they need a good soak at this time of the year.
The weather
forecast for the week ahead is very good with hot, warm sunshine and clear
Blues skies, coming up and across from Africa – so it’s our normal life here in sunny Manilva; we have no
plans,pick-ups,trips out, adventures, guests arriving etc so we will have to make
do with our own company and some reading!
I’ve just
got things on the go for tonight’s supper as well as tomorrows at the same
time; I’ve butchered the ‘Pork Fillet’ into ‘Medallions’ and ‘Escalope’s’ then
made the “Charcutiere” sauce for tonight – meanwhile Brenda is preparing the
vegetables, Diamond-cut Green Beans & Crushed Carrots with Baby New
Potatoes See the picture above. The Tomato Salsa for tomorrow night ‘Spaghetti Milanese’ is already
made to go with the ‘Pork Schnitzels’
So
yesterday afternoon/evening we had an exciting time watching the very gripping
tennis final from Paris followed by a thrilling Grand Prix from Canada; the
Australian driver Daniel Riccardo won after Hamilton retired with no brakes(
rather important!) and there was a major crash with two laps to go with all the
leaders caught up in it, Roseberg was second, then Vettel and Button was a very
impressive fourth!
The late
film as I forecast was not a romantic comedy “ The Expendables 2 ” was in fact
a lot of ‘Aging Names’ Shooting,Fighting,Stabbing etc – with no dialogue! – All
action no content!!
Tonight
after supper we will catch up with all the news, sport and weather up-dates for
the week ahead; of course the weekend it’s the ‘Kick-Off’ of the “ World Cup”
over in Brazil – the wall chart with all the fixtures is up on the kitchen wall
ready!
Thoughts
for the Day; See above.
