SATURDAY 22
nd/ MARCH 2014.
Overnight a
little breeze picked up and so the rain that was forecast for today has been
blown away up the coast! We are in for a
settled weekend and into next week so hopefully it will be fine for our trip
out next Saturday to Cadiz cathedral and onto Puerto Santa Maria; I’ve already
tuned in on the small PC to watch ‘Saturday Morning Kitchen’ – at the moment I’
am watching the BBC TV Breakfast News.
‘Scruffy’
is coming back later this morning and is staying with us until Monday morning,
so this evening he will be in his deluxe bed! He has just arrived so some more pictures
later.
Over in North Wales today it’s the re-opening of the
‘Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways’ as the new Porthmadoc station is now
ready – some picture later.
Tonight for
supper we are having ‘Steak Diane’ with finely sliced Green Beans and
twice-cooked ‘Frits’ (cut thinner!) – I make the sauce with sliced Shallots
& Mushrooms cooked in the pan after and flamed with a good glug of Brandy
tossed in by Brenda! - after sealing the steaks in foaming butter then placed
aside to rest- which I first brush with Dijon Mustard, then a dash of ‘Lea
& Perrins’ and ‘Tabasco’ – finely ground Black Pepper, a large spoon of
Dijon Mustard and a little strong Beef & Vegetable stock are added – then
the steaks go back in the sauce and I add the cream and chopped Parsley.
It’s a big
sports weekend with the start of the ‘Motor GP’over in Qatar; in England in the
‘Premiere League’ today its Everton v Swansea, Cardiff v Liverpool and
Manchester City v Fulham; over here in ‘La Liga’ tomorrow evening its ‘El
Classico’ as Real Madrid welcome Barcelona in a vital top of the league game.
Everton won 3-2, Liverpool won 3-6! City won 5-0!! Oh and Chelsea beat Arsenal 6-0 - goals galore !!

and finding a film to watch.
