FRIDAY 14th/
MARCH 2914.
This
morning it’s a beautiful day yet again here in sunny Manilva,the forecast for
over the weekend and into next week is more of the same and getting warmer;
after breakfast we shot down to Sabinillas for the shopping, supermarket first,
then the bank and pick up the papers before coming back up to the village to
unpack.
We then
went for our walk with dog around the village, I called into the chemists for
some prescriptions and then into the butchers for our Saturday night ‘Steak a
la Plancha’ – Sunday’s marinated local Lamb will be ready to pick up in the
morning. Next we stopped at the surgery to make an appointment with our doctor
to review and update our prescription next week. Brenda went down to local
market and picked up some flowers and plants for the front display.
For supper
this evening we are having ‘Goujons of Hake Fillet’ made with fresh local
breadcrumbs, homemade ‘Tatar’sauce, Mushy Peas and twice-cooked diced chips!
The ‘Brochettes of Pork’ last night were a big hit and my famous Tomato salsa
on the side just finished off the meal! As the weather is now settled into a
fine spell I’ am going to make some of my now famous ‘ Ensaladilla Rusa’ –
‘Russian Salad’ for over the weekend,
So this
afternoon I will go on line to watch the final day’s racing from the
‘Cheltenham Festival’ – the coverage has been excellent and I’ am looking
forward to the ‘Gold Cup’ later; this weekend is a big football one with games
over here and in England, also the ‘Grand Prix’ season starts when the first race
is the ‘Australian Grand Prix’ from Melbourne – all the details on tomorrow’s
Blog.
Last night
after supper we watched on TVE2 the ‘Drag Queen Contest’ from the Carnival in
‘Las Palmas Gran Canaria’ – they are unbelievable – especially the high –
heeled boots and of course the costumes, or lack of them! The winner which was
a very strange choice as he was fat,overweight,could not dance of sing, had
strange make-up and a very bad costume that did not show off his vital assets!
The only thing that he could do, and not very well at that was shake his bum!!
