SATURDAY 8th/
MARCH 2014. “ FELIZ DIA DE LA MUJER !”
Another
settled and fine day down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol’ as we got up after a late
night watching TV; we have just come off the Skype video after a long catch up
chat with Jack and Lyn down in a very hot Melbourne, they are both fine, it’s a
bank holiday weekend over there, they have no plans and are just taking things
easy, they have bought another caravan which has all the latest gadgets
including solar energy panels!
Sadly no
‘Saturday Morning Kitchen’as I could not get on-line with my IT ‘FilmOn’channel
on the small PC!
We have
just come back from a nice walk around the village earlier than normal as the
dog came knocking on our front door in time for breakfast! No plans for the
weekend and no guests for supper so we are having a nice easy time taking
things easy, next week we have a bit of running around at the start of the
week. Brenda has two appointments at the hospital over in Marbella for some final eye tests on Monday
evening and Tuesday afternoon and in-between on Tuesday morning we are across
in La
Linea to pick up the Spanish Driving License.
This
evening we are having ‘Steak a la Plancha’ with sautéed Onions and Mushrooms,
finely sliced Green Beans and twice-cooked frits, Brenda’s with deep-fried
Garlic buds and of course mine topped with a fried Campo Egg – ‘Béarnaise’
sauce on the side!
Over the
weekend I will catch some of the sport on my IT ‘FirstRow Sport’s’ channel on
the large PC; over in England its the Sixth Round of the ‘FA Cup’ – Arsenal
welcome Everton today and on Sunday its Manchester City v Wigan. Over here back
in ‘La Liga’ on Sunday Real Madrid welcome Levante and Barcelona travel To Real Valladolid. On
Sunday afternoon in the ‘Six Nations Rugby Union England ‘welcome’ Wales !! Yesterday evening we watched the
spectacular opening ceremony of the ‘Winter Paralympics’ from Sochi with one
‘Helluva’ fireworks display at the end!
Arsenal have just won 4-1 and are into the semi-finals draw - sorry Big Bri over Pori !!

Last night
after supper we found a film to watch that was produced, directed and starred
Clint Eastwood – “Blood Work” from 2002 with Jeff Daniels, Wanda De Jesus and
Anjelica Houston – a murder mystery with a twist at the end! As it finished
another one started, it was the BBC TV production/series of “ The Tudors” which
we have seen some of the episodes on another channel but this time its on a
main channel with double episodes back to back ! In fact it’s the story of
‘Henry VIII’ with Jonathan Rhys Meyers in the tile role and a mega-cast of too
many to mention! – that’s why we were late going to bed!!
Thoughts
for the Day; See above.
