TUESDAY 4th/
MARCH 2014.
We were up
bright and early this morning as the sun was shining through the shutters; it’s
another glorious day here with a clear blue sky and the sun is out, the
forecast is for more of the same for the next few days, the breeze is stiff but
out of the wind it’s hot – 19degs!
We shot
down to Sabinillas for some essential shopping after last week’s bank holiday;
we first called into the solicitors as the re-newel of the contract on the
house is due, we will sign it on Friday after some discussions about a little
damp problem! We then called into the bank and on the way back we spotted a new
charity shop that has opened, I ended up with two shirts and two jumpers and
Brenda found a cardigan and top! The new English goods shop is also next door
but is not very good, exspenive and they don’t stock what we are looking for
‘Gravy Browning!’ Help!!
When we
came back we then went for a brisk walk with dog around the village after
calling into the chemists for some prescriptions; the water feature in the new
small Plaza is now running and the work on the new passage way is progressing
slowly as you can see in the picture above.
The menu’s
for the week are now sorted, this evening we are having flattened Chicken
Breast cooked in foaming Lime Butter with finely sliced Green Beans and
thick-cut sliced baked potatoes – dry sautéed – simple but nice as afterwards
its ‘Crepes with Strawberries and Vanilla Ice Cream for “ Shove Tuesday!” Then
tomorrow I’ am making a large pan of ‘Beef and Vegetable Stew’ – “SCOUSE”!! Which
we will have we lots of fresh sliced local Beetroot.
Thursday is
left-over’s day then on Friday we are going to have what we missed last week
due to me being indisposed! ‘ Fillet of Hake Bonne Femme’ Saturday night is of
course ‘Steak Night’ and for Sunday I’ve ordered from the butchers a Shoulder
of Lamb that he bones but does not roll, then he marinates it in local Olive
Oil and his own herbs!
Tonight
after supper we will catch up with the news, sport and weather forecast before
channel hopping to find something to watch.
Thoughts
for the Day; See above.
