We were up early this morning and shot down
to Sabinillas before the sun rose over the 'Mediterranean' Brenda’s appointment was
at 8-20am in the main surgery for her special blood tests etc, she went in
right on time, while we were there Daniela called to say that she was not well
and would be taking the day off, so no ‘Reina’ with us for the day. ‘ Scruffy’
is due later for a couple of hours and ‘ Chispa’ has just come calling. ‘
Charlie’ is due to arrive on Thursday for his two week ‘Xmas’ holiday.
When we returned we had ‘ Smoked Bacon
Butties’ ( open for Brenda!) with mugs
of steaming tea, we then had our ‘Xmas Menu’ planning meeting ( final details) –
got the shopping lists ready for Thursday & Friday, sorted out the menus
for this week; tomorrow morning we are up early again as I have my appointment with
my ‘Prostrate Consultant’ at the hospital past Marbella, tomorrow night we are
going around to the church for the ‘Xmas Carol Concert’
Thursday & Friday I’m out on my travels
for all the shopping, ‘ Mercadona, Super Sol, English Bookshop & Butchers’
and the local vegetable & flower markets, then on Saturday morning I’m
planning to pick up the key to Michelle’s apartment and leave the ‘Xmas Welcome
Hamper’ We are preparing ‘Christmas Day Lunch’ later on Saturday including
roasting the Turkey, then in the evening I’m collecting the folks from the
Airport in Gibraltar, the ‘ Boxing Day ‘ Roast Rib of Beef’ etc are being
cooked on the day, the only problem will be parking the car, after all my
travels, as the village, the underground car park etc will be full with all the
family holiday visitors, watch this space!
This evening we are having ‘ Grilled
Entrecote Steak ‘ cooked on a very hot griddle plate ‘ Med-Rare’ – then left to
rest before slicing it into fingers ‘ French Style’ with finely sliced Green
Beans & twice-cooked ‘ Chips’ Tomorrow we are snacking during the day and
having ‘Heinz Beans’ on Toast when we come back from the ‘Carol Concert’ On
Thursday it’s Grilled Chicken Wings, Friday is ‘ Fish Night ‘ and then on
Saturday we are having a ‘Beef & Vegetables Casserole’ that I’m making on
Friday.
Today it’s very brisk, to say the least,
there is a little breeze and the clouds are clearing, the sun is just breaking
through and by this afternoon it will be 18/19degs, the rest of the week it’s
more of the same, getting a little warmer, no rain, over the ‘Xmas’ weekend it’s
dry and sunny and next week is also looking settled but with some cloud around,
watch this space.
Last night we watched after supper the ‘
Derby ‘ game between Everton & Liverpool, I managed to get the coverage on ‘
First Row Sports’ with the American ‘NBC Network ‘ – American commentators and
adverts! Liverpool won 0-1 in extra time – ‘RESULT’!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
