I was up early this morning and shot out on
my travels, I called first into the local surgery to book an appointment for
next Wednesday morning with our Doctor, Natalia, for Brenda’s check up after
her latest blood tests etc.
I then carried on down to Sabinillas to ‘Mercadona’
for the shopping for Michelle’s ‘Xmas Welcome Hamper’ – I stopped at the local garage to top up the
petrol, wash the car and check the tyre pressure etc, I then popped into the ‘Wholesale
Fruit & Vegetable’ market for the fresh Parsnips etc. On the way back up
the hill I called into ‘ Super Sol ‘ for all the ‘English’ essentials before
heading back up to the village.
In ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ ‘ Reina’ was dropped
off first thing this morning, she’s back
with us tomorrow and then next week for three days from Wednesday, ‘ Scruffy’
is being dropped off a little later as Rose goes across to the hospital to
hopefully collect Adrian, later in the day ‘ Charlie’ is due to arrive for his two-week
Xmas holiday! No doubt ‘ Chispa’ will be calling in, as usual, to see all her
friends!
PS; Adrian is home so a very happy Rose has just picked ' Scruffy' up - who will be very excited to see him his Dad!

We have another glorious day down here on
the ‘ Costa del Sol’ – the sky is bright blue and the sun was out first thing,
it’s crisp with no breeze, by lunchtime it’s due to reach 18/19degs, the rest
of the week and over the Xmas weekend it’s going to be more of the same, next week
is now looking settled and very good for the time of the year, watch this
space.
After unpacking back at the house I shot
along to our local butchers for some of his excellent ‘Braising Steak’ for the ‘
Beef & Vegetable Stew’ that I’m making later this morning, I’m collecting
the ‘Ribs of Entrecote Beef’ on Saturday morning, we are having the ‘Grilled
Chicken Wings’ for lunch as we are planning to go down to watch the 20th
Anniversary ‘Brass Band’ Concert this evening, on the way back we are going to
have a night cap in ‘Bar Castillo’
At the moment on ‘TVE’ they are showing the
draw from Madrid of the National Lottery “ El Gordo - The Fat One “ by
lunchtime we could be multi-millionaires, watch this space!! Brenda has just
gone off with her ‘Xmas Bonus’ ( Staff !) to the dress shop in ‘Calle Inglaise’
for something for Christmas! ( Two tops !! )
Tomorrow morning I’m out on my travels,
again, for our main weekly ‘Xmas’ shopping, picking up the local newspapers
form the ‘English Book Shop, the Turkey etc from the ‘English Butchers’ in
Puerto Duquesa and finally some fresh plants and flowers from the local market
at the end of the promenade.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
