After taking ‘ Charlie’ for his early
morning walk we then got ourselves sorted for the day ahead, we have finished
the preparations and set the table, everything is ready for a ‘ Helluva’
Christmas Day!
Only one little problem, last night as I was
about to come back up to the village after dropping Michelle and family at their
apartment down on the coast, I had a major problem with the car, sadly to say
the gear box gave up the ghost, it would not engage and is, so it seems, well
and truly knackered, just like us!
Thankfully it didn’t happen on the way to
the airport to pick the folks up, their flight arrived early ( 27 mins!) and
they were coming out of the arrivals hall as I arrived! It was all right coming
back along the coast road up to the village, I rang the breakdown service and
they arrived 30 minutes later as well as the taxi to take me back up to the
house, very efficient and good service, they have taken the car to the depot
and will deliver to our garage on Tuesday when they reopen!
So the first problem is how I ‘m going to
collect the folks to bring them up to the village and our house, and get back
to their apartment later! I’m waiting to hear from Mano?! Then tomorrow morning
their hire car is being dropped off, so at least they will be mobile.
We will
have to arrange a hire car for us, for now, to get about and lastly get the
folks back to the airport in Gibraltar in January. We will then have to wait to
see on Tuesday if the gear box is repairable and if so how much?! We will the
decide whether to scrap it or buy a new one??!! Watch this space.

Peaceful new Year “

Navidad y un Prospero Año Nuevo “
