I was up first this morning to welcome back
‘ Reina’ for the day, we all had a little lie in before breakfast, we put the
shopping list together for tomorrow morning, sorted our day ahead out and then
planned next week ‘Xmas Week’
Starting with all the bookings in ‘ Doggy
World Heaven’ – Reina, Scruffy & Charlie, my appointment with my ‘
Prostrate Consultant ‘ on Wednesday morning, the ‘Band & Carol Concert’ in
the church on Wednesday evening, the main Xmas shopping on Friday including
collecting the Turkey and finding the ‘ Fresh Parsnips’ - the Rib of Beef from
our local butcher on Saturday morning before finally on Xmas Eve picking up
Matt & Michelle and the kids from Gibraltar airport in the evening.
Tomorrow morning I’m out on my travels for
the weekly shopping down in Sabinillas, on Saturday in the Cultural Centre ‘
Casa de Torres’ around the corner of our street, there is a all-day ‘ Flamenco’ extravaganza with food!
Yesterday evening we had a surprise guest
join us for supper, a rather wet & bedraggled Brian! His car had a puncture
on the coast road from Gibraltar on his way home from work in the middle of the
rain storm! The breakdown people dropped him & the car off, back in the
village, he called into to say ‘ Goodbye’ - as he leaves for England of Friday evening
after his last day of work, he’s flying from Gibraltar to Manchester and starts
work in his new job next Tuesday, for the same ' Gamesys' Company, in Newcastle-Under-Lyme
in Staffordshire, he’s going to live in Northwich, near to Jane’s Bakery shop!
He’s been promoted to a ‘ Team Leader/Customer Support’ – he’s been a ‘Fraud
Investigator’ for the online gaming/managing company for a couple of years. He
will also be near to all his family who live in and around Runcorn.
We gave him a ‘ Stiff’ Brandy, to take the 'frown' of his face, and made him stay for supper, that we were just about to put
out on the table, as usual we had more then we could eat so it was just the
right ‘ Comfort ‘ food for the wet evening outside. We had a good catch up
& gossip, reminisced about the good & bad times over the years, here in
sunny Manilva and all his plans for the future, we are joining him for the one
last drink this evening up in ‘Bar Castillo’ – as he wrote in our little ‘Red’
Guest Comments Book – “ Hasta Luego “ !!
Later in the evening the rain stopped and
the forecast for today & tomorrow changed, the ‘Atlantic’ front has moved
on up to Northern Spain quicker than expected, today it’s crisp & dry, the
same tomorrow and over the weekend, at the moment, it’s looking calm &
settled, fingers crossed; Watch this space.
This evening for our supper we are having ‘Grilled
flattened Chicken Fillets’ with Garden Peas & twice-cooked ‘ Chips’ – plain
& simple; tomorrow night it’s a ‘ Fish Supper’ – on Saturday a ‘ Steak
Dinner’ and then on Sunday we are going to have for a nice change, ‘ Braised Minted
Lamb Shanks in Gravy’ with all the trimmings!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
