No lie in for the ‘ wicked’ this morning,
we shot out with ‘ Charlie’ for his first walk of the day and when we came
back, after a quick cup of tea, we dived into the kitchen to get today’s ‘
Banquet’ on the go.
“ Roast Sirloin of Beef on the Bone “ with
Yorkshire Puddings & Pan Gravy, ‘ Duck Fat’ Roast Potatoes and from the ‘
Vegetable Chef ‘ – Broccoli & Cauliflower Florets in a Three Cheese sauce, Crushed
Carrots & Turnips, Whole Baby Green Beans & Garden Peas.
To start its ‘ Tapas’ – Finely sliced
Chorizo & Serrano Ham, Semicurado de Cabra Cheese and Diced Pigs in Blankets
marinated in Lea & Perrins. For the Dessert we have our special Homemade
Peach & Manzanilla Trifle or/and Apple Tort with Ice Cream.
The wine selection today is ‘ Bucks Fizz
with Cava ‘ followed by a ‘ Torres Vina Sol ‘ then a fine ‘ Marquis de Riscal
Reseva Rioja ‘
We have another glorious day down here on
the ‘ Costa del Sol’ – the sun was out early, the sky is blue and there is no
breeze, perfect, the week ahead is also looking fine and settled.
This morning the hire car has been dropped
off down at the apartment, Michelle and the family are popping along to Sabinillas
for some shopping and then coming up to the village this afternoon, I’m going
to find somewhere to park and then take them home this evening, my name is on
the insurance as well, tomorrow morning I have to go to the surgery, first
thing, for some documents and then call into the local Garage to see Pedro to
sort out bringing the car over from the depot in Estepona. Watch this space.
The ‘ Christmas Angel ‘ yesterday was our
dear friend Lumy from ‘Bar Rojas’ – she took me down to pick the folks up and
then later in the evening took them back to the apartment, a very kind ‘ help’
on Xmas Day – many thanks!
Last night after we had cleared up we got
in touch with the ‘ Moffatt Clan ‘ on the Skype video in Torre de la Horadada ‘
– Tim & Thea were in fine form and we had a good catch up with all their news,
Jo, had arrived from Madrid, but was a little off colour, and the Ben ( The ‘ARMS’
! ) had flown in from North Wales, see the picture below of them out for their first
drink of many!
This afternoon I’m going to watch the ‘King
George VI Chase’ from Kempton Park, the rest of the time it’s all the ‘Xmas TV’
for the children.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
