Another early rise this morning to see ‘Reina’
back with us for the day & a sleep over, she’s being collected later tomorrow
evening by Lee on his way back from the airport in Gibraltar after a business trip
for his company to Guernsey. Next week she’s with us for seven days with sleep
over’s on Friday/Saturday, she will have some company on the Friday evening as ‘
Scruffy’ is also here for a sleep over, this morning we had a very quick visit
from ‘ Chispa’ – she’s still on her holidays down at the family ‘ Campo’ but
came back to her home for a short time!
We then all had a little lie in before
getting the day on the go, after freshening up we had our normal breakfast and
sorted the shopping list for tomorrow morning; I then shot along to our local
Bank in ‘Calle Mar’ to pay the Electricity Bill, Brenda reads the Electricity
& Water Meters and then check the bills when they arrive, the Electricity Bill
is now coming every month, after they installed the new Online Meter, its
better as before they used to be very irregular ( 2/3 months )
At the moment the ‘ Euro’ is down at its
lowest in over many years, we are in the middle of our various ‘Pension’s’ arriving in our Spanish Bank Account,
this means that we now down nearly 250 Euros per month, we are leaving some
annuities payments in our old ‘HSBC' Bank Account in Colwyn Bay until the rate, if & when,
starts rising?! Watch this space!!
See below a picture of a windy promenade over in Colwyn Bay, North Wales, yesterday, Tim walks ' Jasper' along there everyday! ( that's not him in the picture ! )
The sun did arrive yesterday afternoon and
its clear and warm this morning with a little breeze, it’s a little cooler, for
now, the new weather front coming in from Africa is due to arrive by tomorrow
morning as the old one ‘ Hits’ the UK this weekend, it will then get hotter
each day over the weekend, here, making it just right for the ‘Manilva Feria’ which
formally starts this evening down on the ‘ Rastro’ Ground in the valley below
the village.
This evening we are going along to ‘ Bar
Castillo’ as its the ‘ Chef’s & Staff ‘ night off, for a late ‘ Tapas’
supper sat in the cooler evening air, taking in the sights, sounds & aromas
of sunny Manilva!
Yesterday I managed to make a good contact,
via my large PC, on the ‘First Row Sports’ channel and we watched the end of
the ‘ Men’s Time Trial’ over a very hilly & wet, long, 54kms course, Chris
Froome took the ‘ Bronze’ medal after understandably struggling over the very testing
course, the ‘Swiss’ Time Trial specialist ‘ Fabian Cancellara’ was the deserved winner of the ‘ Gold ‘ medal after a
scintillating ride in the wet conditions.
Today the ‘Track Cycling’ starts in the Velodrome over in Rio, Mark
Cavendish is racing in the ‘ Omnium’ and Sir Bradley Wiggins is back in the
Team Pursuit, watch this space.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
