We all overslept this morning after a very
hot & sticky night not helped by a power cut at 4-00am ( fixed in 15 mins!) meaning that we had no fans, it was like an
oven in the bedroom, its the hottest night this year with the night time temperature
not dropping below 35 degs, this morning it was 38 degs and by mid-afternoon
its due to reach the 50 degs mark! ‘ Scruffy ‘ was collected and ‘ Reina’ is
settled in for another day and night with us,’ Chispa’ is in and out as normal
during the day & evening.
" NEWSFLASH "
" NEWSFLASH "
This morning has not started good, Brenda
has a problem with her foot again, two days ago when she was putting on her
surgical stockings ( to help with the circulation ) she strained her right
foot, the one that was broken back in February, since then it been very painful
and she has kept it up all day, this morning she was in pain and could not
place it on the floor, I called ‘ Helicopteros Sanitarios ‘ and a Doctor, a
senior Medic and a Nurse arrived, they have strapped the foot & ankle and
we decided that she would wait to go to her Doctor’s appointment on Tuesday morning
and take it from there, ie; X-Ray etc, if necessary, if it gets any worse we
will call them again and they can take her across to the hospital past
Marbella. The reason why we are not going today is that it’s the busiest
weekend on the hottest day and the forecast is that it would take 10/12 hours
to be seen, also our car is due for a quick routine service on Monday morning
and is out of action until then, watch this space and fingers crossed!!
The sun is out and the sky is blue, it’s
going to get hotter over the weekend and next week we are set for a ‘ Scorcher ‘
– you know it’s hot when even the locals are complaining!
Today the ‘Premiere’ League and ‘ La Liga’
are back in action; here Barcelona welcome Real Betis and Real Madrid travel to
Real Sociedad, in England Manchester City are down the M6 to Stoke and Everton
will also be on the M6 going to West Brom, Liverpool, meanwhile, head in the
other direction, up the M6, to Burnley!
During the last few days we have been
following the Olympics on the Spanish ‘TVE1’ programme, Spain have done better
than normal with Gold Medals this time, so the coverage has been very good, we
first caught the excellent coverage as the ‘Brownlee’ brothers winning Gold
& Silver in the Traithlon, then the young girl, Jade Jones, from Flint, in
North Wales, retained her Gold medal in the final of the Ladies Taekwondo, then
the ‘Golden Oldie’ Nick Skelton won in the Showjumping; finally late last night
the ‘Women’s Hockey Team ‘ beat the reigning Champions Holland after drawing
3-3 . it was then a dramatic penalty shoot out ‘ Hockey’ style’ which Great
Britain won 2-0!!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
