A VERY SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK;

MONDAY 18TH MAY 2015.

No lie in needed this morning so we were ‘up and at’ am’ first thing to get the week ahead on the go! The sun is out, the sky is blue and there’s a slight breeze in the air, another perfect day here in sunny Manilva and down on the ‘Costa Del Sol’! The week ahead is also looking good with more of the same and getting warmer as the week goes on.

This week in ‘Doggy World Heaven’ we have a busy week as ‘Reina’ is back with us on Tuesday & Thursday before ‘Charlie’ arrives on Friday for his holiday as Brian & Jan are going home to Liverpool to see their family and at the same time to watch the 175th ‘Cunard Steamship’ celebrations on the River Mersey when the “Three Queens” are arriving! ‘Scruffy’ will be back with us later in the week after Rose comes back off her holiday ( TBC) and of course ‘Chispa’ will be here everyday to play with all her friends!

We had our usual breakfast and then sorted the menu’s out for the week ahead; this evening its sliced cold Roast Chicken with salad then tomorrow I’m calling into our butchers in the village for some ‘Escalope of Pork Loin’ for Tuesday supper and some of his excellent diced stewing Beef as on Wednesday we are having another old classic “ Beef Bourguignon ” made to my recipe before something with ‘Campo Egg’s on Thursday – Friday is ‘Fish Day’ and Saturday its of course ‘Steak Night’ – Sunday is TBC.

Sadly Douglas & Lyn are not able to come across to meet up as they have run out of time with their friends Pedro & Ann so it will have to be another time in the not to distant future. Meanwhile tomorrow our dear friend Jenny Faux, who worked for us for many years at the ‘Hotel Seventy Degrees’ in Colwyn Bay, is arriving with some of her family for a holiday down in Duquesa Marina so hopefully we will be able to meet up with her sometime as no doubt she will also be seeing Mano & Anna and Sally Ann who are also great friends.

At the moment Sally Ann is in the process of opening a shop down in Sabinillas “ Sabby Chic” selling household furniture & items that have been restored

Over in Melbourne Lyn & Jack have been at a party for Lyn’s first Great Grand Son, she also has two Great Grand daughters, ‘Kyan’ was three – in the pictures below you can see Lyn, her daughter Annette and Kyan.

So last night Barcelona became the ‘La Liga’ Champions as they beat Atl, Madrid 0-1 with a Messi goal – Barcelona’s seventh ‘La Liga’ title in 11 years !! Alberto Contador retained the leaders Pink jersey for another day in the ‘Giro D’Italia’ and at the ‘Motor GP’ at Le Mans in France Jorge Lorenzo beat his team mate Valentino Rossi.

My Liverpool picture below shows the famous “ Bluecoat Chambers” in School Lane behind Church Street, built in 1716 as a charity school, it’s the oldest surviving building in the center of Liverpool and is also the oldest Arts Centre in the UK – the last time I was there was to see a ‘Model Railway’ exhibition many years ago – another one of my many passions – now not a lot of people know that – they do now!

This afternoon we will be back up on the roof terrace later, reading, we are at the moment on ‘Patterson’s’ again, before our ‘Happy Hour’ cocktails while listening to the local Radio stations. What a Life!

Early this evening Mano & Anna called in for a chat and gossip as its Mano's night off,they stayed for a while and had a couple of drinks before heading off into the sunset!

So back to reality and after supper this evening we will catch up with all the news, sport and weather details before settling down to watch a film.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
