A VERY HOT & SUNNY MANILVA ON FRIDAY AT THE START OF THE BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 1^st/MAY 2015!

No lie in needed this morning and with the sun braking through the shutters we were up and at em! We had our usual breakfast and sorted ourselves out for the weekend ahead; ‘Scruffy’ is due back with us sometime over the weekend but we are waiting to hear when?! It’s a official Bank Holiday here in Spain today so ‘Mercadona ‘ is closed but some of the local shops in the village are open as usual. All the 14 Bars are open!!

'Scruffy' is back with us on Saturday for the day and then he's here next Tuesday & Thursday for a sleep over,it will be great to see him,we have missed him! 

Yesterday evening as we were talking to Lee, as he picked ‘Reina’up, about the Bank Holiday’s here, in Gibraltar & the UK we realized that we had forgotten that it was closed today; so we shot down to Sabinillas and entered the mad house which was bursting at the seams, the shelves were empty and it was everyman & women for them self’s!!  What we could not find in ‘Mercadona’ we found in ‘Super Sol’ later!

The Menu’s for the weekend have been agreed; this evening we are having a ‘Seafood Risotto’ with Gambas, Prawns, Cod, Mussels,Crab,Octapus & Squid along with Mixed Peppers & Garden Peas and anything else that I can find to throw in!!

On Saturday evening its going to be a ‘Tournedos’ dish yet to be decided then on Sunday no Roast but we are having Spanish ‘Lamb Cutlets Boulangere’

So today we have an easy day taking things as they come, we have just heard from a dear friend that used to work for us back in the good old days of the ‘Hotel Seventy Degrees’ in Colwyn Bay; Jenny Faux is coming over to her brothers apartment in Duquesa Marina at the end of May so we have offered to pick her up, it will be nice to see her and catch up with all the news from North Wales.

‘Chispa’ has just come crashing in no doubt looking for her friends to play with, we will take her for a walk a little later around the village and check out a bar or two! We ended up back at Carlos's 'Antiuguidades' Bar by the entrance to the village and then we called into Bar Rojas for another cool drink sat under the 'Sonbajo' taking in the sights,sound & smells of sleepy Manilva.

We had a nice surprise 'Skype' video call this afternoon from Tim & Thea in their Motor Home on a site outside Montpellier in the Languedoc region of the Southern France; they are enjoying their first adventure away,they are heading home across France on Monday,safe journey,we will hopefully see them in late September!!

After supper this evening we catch up with all the news, sport and weather updates, the forecast for the weekend is even getting hotter and the for start of next week we are having more of the same, We have all the fans out in the bedroom, office, kitchen & lounge and the summer sheets are on the bed – we are ready – bring it on!
