We started
the day with a nice long lie in as the village was so quiet, the sun was out
early and soon came crashing through the shutteres,it’s a perfect day in sunny
Manilva with a clear blur sky and a slight breeze to make it very exceptable -
a fine day to relax and take things easy. The forecast for next week is also
looking good and getting warmer as the weeks progresses.
At the
moment I’m up in the office, as you can see, typing the Blog on the large PC
and at the same time on the small PC I’m listening to ‘Castle Radio FM 89.2’
via the internet, it’s a local radio station based in Duquesa that plays easy
listening ‘Eclective’ music with local presenters including the Rev.Andrew
Charles the owner!
After I’ve
posted the Blog I’m going down to the kitchen as my very able Assistant Chef
has been very busy preparing the ingredients for a fresh bowl of my famous “
Ensaldilla Rusa – Russian Salad ” See below;
Today it’s the Chef’s day off so for our supper this evening we are having a ‘Rotisserie Chicken’ from the shop in Calle Mar which we are having with a nice Mixed Salad & Parsley New Potatoes. See below;

At
lunchtime we are going for a little walk to pick up the Chicken and then will
no doubt stop for a nice cool drink at ‘Bar Rojas’ sat under the ‘Sonbrajo’
taking the sights, sounds & smells of sleepy, sunny Manilva !
We stayed and had Lumy's Paella and another drink,we met a nice couple,Pete from Carlolina in the USA & Lola from Galicia in Northen Spain,they live and work in Germany down in the South of the country in Stuttgart.
Then this afternoon we will go up to the roof terrace to catch up with our reading, while we listen to the local Spanish radio stations and then it will be time for our ‘Happy Hour’ cocktails

Yesterday
evening I watched on the large PC via ‘First Row Sports’ the live coverage of
Steven Gerrard’s last home game for Liverpool from Anfield – it was very
emotional as he walked out for the last time, with his three daughters, to a
thunderous ovation from the adoring fans. Sadly Liverpool played terrible and lost 1-3 to a
very watch able Crystal Palace team. Everton meanwhile won 1-2
down at West Ham.
In the
‘Giro D’Italia’ Alberto Contador rode very well, even with a dislocated
shoulder, and retained the leaders ‘Pink’ jersey
