TUESDAY 6th/
MAY 2014.
Just a
little lie in this morning before we had our breakfast and sorted ourselves out
for another sunny day down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol’ I first shot around to
the butchers and picked up some braising steak and re-freshed last nights sauce
with some more sautéed Mushrooms & Onions for tonight’s feast – we are
treating ourselves to some of Brenda’s famous Mashed Potato!
Last night
we all enjoyed our supper and we had a good catch up and gossip with Mano, he
had been earlier to the church as his grandson Fabio was being ‘Confirmed’ by
the Bishop of Malaga. He is back in work this evening so we have arranged for
the ‘Sexton a la Carte – Take Away Service’ to re-start – tonight its ‘Russian
Salad!’
I watched
the second half of the Crystal Palace v Liverpool game upstairs in the office
on the larger PC after Mano had gone home; It was not good to watch as
Liverpool conceded three goals and let the chance of winning the title, for the
first time in over 20 years slip through their hand’s, I rang Tim over in Old
Colwyn to commiserate with him, he had been out for dinner and watched the game
at the pub, he left when it 0-3 and by the time he arrived back at his house it
was 3-3 !!! We were both shell –shocked and could not speak!
Today over
in England it’s the start of ‘Chester Race Week’ – one of our favorite flat
race meeting’s; its only 50 miles from North Wales, for our friends and family
that don’t know and is held at “The Roodee” the oldest race course in England
dating back to the sixteenth century, it name comes from a small mound in the
center of the course that has a cross on it and also its next to the River Dee
– it’s also the smallest flat race course in the country with a slightly miss-
shaped oval of 1 mile 1 furlong that they race round anti-clockwise!! Not a lot
of people know that!! See the pictures above which are slightly wobberly as I
took then off the internet with the camera!
After
supper this evening we watch the news, sport and weather up-dates before
channel hopping.
Thoughts
for the Day; See above.
