OVERCAST BUT STILL WARM IN SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY;

TUESDAY 20^th/ MAY 2014.

As forecast it’s a little overcast today but still warm 25degs down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol’ After breakfast we walked along to the chemists for Brenda’s new tablets and then carried on down to the butchers for tonight’s ‘Escalope’s of Chicken’ – the reason he was closed yesterday was that he had been away for the weekend to Madrid to see the “ Lion King ” He stayed overnight and went on the fast ‘AVE’ train from Malaga as he had found on the internet a very cheap return price for two tickets!

When we got back I called Tim over in Colwyn Bay to wish Ben ‘Happy Birthday’ – we knew that he had gone away for the summer working over in Majorca after finishing University so we had sent his card early, we had a good catch up with Tim instead!

So tonight Gillian and Lillemor are coming around for a light supper; ‘Escalope’s of Chicken Breast’ pan-fried in foaming Lime Butter with savory Basmati Rice on the side, Finely sliced Green Beans and sauceboat of a rich creamy Mushroom sauce! To start we are having Tapas of my ‘Spanish style Russian salad’ and for desert sliced of ‘Ogen’ Melon with local Cherries.

At lunchtime Scruffy is coming for the day and then going home later, the same again tomorrow, so we are looking forward to seeing him, he’s no trouble and is a real character! He has just arrived and so we went for our walk with both of the dogs; Claus and Doreen are due to drive back to Bremen on Friday so they are coming over for a local breakfast one morning to say goodbye until they return in July.

Then next week on Wednesday when we are due to take Gillian across to the Bus Station over in Marbella later in the evening to catch her flight home so we are going down to ‘Bodegon Andaluz’ in our street for a Tapas lunch as it’s her birthday! Next due over are Josie then Den later – we are waiting to hear when – we have offered to pick her/them up!

Last night we caught up with all the news, sport and weather forecast after supper before channel hopping as the films were terrible, at the moment on all the major channels its programmes on the ‘European Elections’ at the end of this week – boring and useless anyway!

PPS; Late this afternoon the painters arrived and started to work on the outside of the house - typical !! See the pictures above.
