SUNNY BREEZY AND WARM MANILVA AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND;

FRIDAY 8th/ NOVEMBER 2013.

We were up sharpish this morning and after our tea & toast we set off down to Sabinillas for our shopping; our first port of call was the garage to top up with petrol and check the tire pressures, later I checked the oil, coolant and windscreen wash ready for the ‘ITV – MOT’ on Monday morning! Next to the garage is a large stationery shop in which we found some glossy photo paper and some other essentials.

I then went to the bank and Brenda went to the Fruit & Vegetable market, we picked up the English newspapers and called into the ‘Chinese Bazaar’ for some picture frames and a 'Flour' pot/container  as our flour is loose not in a bag!‘Mercadona’ was next to stock us up ready for our visitor a week on Monday; after unloading I dropped the car back down to the car park ready to go across to Estepona on Monday.

The weather forecast for the weekend and into the start of next week is warm and sunny with clear Blue skies and a little breeze; fingers crossed that it stays around for another week or so at least as its excellent ‘Golfing’ weather!! Mano and Anna called in on their way home after Mano finishening work and picked up the papers; Anna is going back to England for two weeks and has got a cheap flight from Gibraltar on Sunday 24th – watch out Tim as it’s possibly the same flight that you are on!!

This weekend on Sunday the Tourism Department has arranged a trip to a mountain village above Malaga for a ‘Fiesta’ of Ham & Cheese and then next Saturday they are going to another village for a ‘Feria de Conejo’ – Rabbit! Sadly due to our commitments we can’t make them.

We then went for a good walk with the dog around the village, I called into the chemists and we then went down to our local market by the sports complex for our fresh flowers, I ended up buying a pair of slippers ready for the ‘Winter ?’ – He, He !! On the way back we stopped at the butchers for our ‘Saturday Steak’ – it looks like we will be having ‘Steak au Poivre’

Tonight for supper we are having Baked ‘Rodabbalo’- a whole baby Turbut which we bought this morning from the fish market, cooked in foaming Lime Butter with baby New Potatoes in their skins and Garden Peas.
We will then find a film to watch.

Thought for the Day; See above.
