TUESDAY 12th/
NOVEMBER 2013.
We had a
little lie in this morning as we had no running around to do; after our tea,
toast and fresh fruit we had a good morning in the kitchen getting things on
the go with Brenda’s help, I first made a large pan of my now famous
‘Minestrone Soup’ with over 15 different vegetables and pulses, then I got
ready tonight’s supper which Tom, the pro-golfer is joining us for; ‘Baked
English-cut Pork Chops’ topped with glazed Apple slices, Carrot Batons with
Ginger, Cabbage with Alselgas, Grilled Baby Mushrooms and a large dish of
‘Lyonnaise Potatoes’ with on the side a sauceboat of ‘Charcutiere sauce’ Some small Tapas to start and then for
dessert ‘Crepes a la Maison’
Just after
breakfast Tim called to let us know that sadly Wes can’t arrange cover for his business
in time so will not be able to make it; this means that we will not have to
arrange a hire car as we only now have Tim to pick up next Monday from the
airport in Gibraltar . So we will have to look forward to
welcoming Wes next year some time to sunny Manilva!
Last night
on the weather forecast it started the show the weekend ahead, its not very
good I’ am afraid, after checking on a local long range weather forecast
web-site it confirmed that there is a large cold weather front coming down from
the North Pole and crossing the UK and all of Europe before reaching Spain and
then the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ by Saturday ! This means that the temperature’s are
dropping by 6/10 degrees during the day, so here it will be 17/18 degs and of
course colder at night! The sun will be still out but some of the wet stuff
could his us by the end of next week and over the weekend! Sorry Tim – we have
warned him to bring some jumpers, scarfs and gloves ! Brenda is also now getting
the duvet out to put on Tim’s bed to keep him warm at night!!
We then
went for a walk with dog around the lower part of the village and back across
the new park as you can see in the pictures above; they have started to paint
the concrete walls Grey?! - around the sign as we suggested to our local
councilor Mario, yesterday afternoon the father of another local councilor
Marcus painted the display barrels with signs showing the different grapes and
type’s of wine that are produced here.
Last night
film was “Pride & Glory” from 2008 – its about corruption in the ‘NYPD’ and
stars Ed Norton, Colin Farrell, Jon Voight,Noah Emmerich and Jennifer Ehle as a
family all in the police force, some baddies and some goodies – watch it to
find out who?!
Thought for
the Day; See above.
