THURSDAY 15th/AUGUST
2013.
As it’s a
bank holiday here in Spain we had a little lie in this morning; the village is
dead, they have all gone off to their ‘Campo’s’ or down to the beach for the
day! We have an easy day as tonight I’ am having Chicken Curry again and Brenda
has requested a Cheese Omelet, so there’s nothing to get ready,I’am going to
have some chips and rice with the curry and Brenda is having a Tomato salad.
We took our
time freshening up and then at lunchtime we went up to Bar Rojas, our friend
from last year, Di did not appear? but Gillian and her friend Sally came along
so they joined us for a Tapas lunch, inside as there is at this moment lots of
small flies everywhere; Brenda had some lovely fresh ‘Boquerones’- ‘Marinated
Anchovy Fillets’ on ‘Pan Moreno’- local Tapas Bread and I had my favorite
‘Carne Machado’ – cold marinated cooked Pork Rump, sliced with Lumy’s famous
Patatas Fritas and a fried Campo Egg! Both were delicious!!
Brenda is
now up on the roof terrace working on another part of her body and I’ am, down
in the office typing this, as you see! “Happy Hour”is not far off!
Tonight we
be able to find a good film later a because it’s a bank holiday all the regular
programmes have been replaced with films.
We choose a classic 'Western' from 1967 - " Hombre " starring Paul Newman,Fredrick March,Richard Boone as always playing the ' Baddie' Martin Balsalm and Diane Cilento - watch out for the surprise ending!
