A NEARLY SUNNY AND HOT MANLVA ON TUESDAY

TUESDAY 13th/ AUGUST 2013.

This morning we were up before the larks as Brenda has gone down to Sabinillas on the early bus for her morning ‘Constitutional’; as you can see in the pictures above of the on-going work on ‘La Pedreta’ and ‘Plaza de la Vendimia’it was still overcast with the morning sea mist before the sun breaks through later.

Meanwhile later I took some pictures later of 'Plaza Pozo Del Rey'-they have started the planting and have put a small Mosiac Mural up,on the way back I noticed that some scaffolding has been taken down around the top of the church tower as the roof is finished!

Back now to the on-going saga/mystery of Brenda’s missing 70th birthday cards; yesterday evening Tim over in Old Colwyn called us and we then got together on the Skype video as we had not spoken for a while, during our conversation I asked Tim about some ‘Welsh’ car stickers/decals that he said he would send us, he informed me that they were in Brenda’s 70th birthday card that Thea had specially chosen and posted early! We then realized that it was another card that did not get to us but at the time as Tim and Thea had sent Brenda a very large, beautiful and expensive bouquet with a nice message we didn’t think anything of it!

So the mystery deepens as two other cards did not reach here, one from Jane and David with money in it for a special bottle of Champagne and one from ZoĆ« and Graham, since then we have spoken to all of them and re-confirmed by e-mail our address, they all have the correct address and have sent us cards in the past on many occasions, as Tim said they know how much Brenda likes receiving and sending cards!! So this morning I wrote up all the details and called in to our local post office in the village opposite the bus stop after seeing Brenda off; the postmaster has taken down all the information and is looking into it, after all its not they don’t know us!!

Tim had lots of news to tell us and also he had posted pictures of his back garden which he is very proud of as the Blue Flower Pots were ours and we gave them to him and Thea as a going away present to remember us by! He’s done a great job as you can see in the picture below.

Our next door neighbor Anna is having some painting done so this morning I asked the lady painter if she would finish the job on the roof terrace when she has finished next door and paint the window railings for us – result! Mano did not arrive with turps yesterday – ‘Hasta Manana’

Yesterday afternoon up in Durham England had a surprise win in the 4th ‘Ashes Test match’ when the genius bowler Chris Broad took 6 wickets for 50 runs and they had a stupendous 74-run victory to win the ‘Ashes’ from the Aussies!

For supper this evening we are having 'Chicken Schnitzel' as I picked up the Fillets of Breast of Chicken from our butcher who takes the breast off a chicken and slices then to order! Breton Potatoes and fried Bell Green Peppers are the vegetables and on the side the rest of the ' Charcutiere' sauce from Sunday.

Last nights film was the ‘Cops and Robbers’ story “ The Rookie ”from 1992 with Clint Eastwood Charlie Sheen, Tim Skeritt and Raul Julia who always plays a good ‘Baddie’and Sonia Braga getting ‘Hot’ with a razor blade sat on Clint Eastwood knees!! Watch it to see what I mean!!

Thought for the Day; See above.
