WEDNESDAY
21st/ AUGUST 2013.
We were up
before sunrise this morning to take Di across to the airport in Gibraltar by a
different route when we got to La Linea De La Conception; it worked, the road was
open and free of traffic and we were able to park right opposite the crossing
to the border where I took the picture below of a cloudy rock! The lane into Gibraltar was flowing freely also with no
hold ups, I had checked before we left on the live web-cams and everything was
fine.
We were
back before we normally get up so decided to have some of Brenda’s famous
‘Poached Eggs on Toast’ as you can see in the picture above! Brenda is into one
of her fridge defrosting, washing and cleaning modes so I’ am up in the office
on the WWW.
We will
settle back into our normal routine later and will start our new ‘Patterson’s’
up on the roof terrace later in the afternoon for our ‘Happy Hour’ Mano is
dropping Derrick off this afternoon for his short holiday with us.
This
evening we are having Baked Pork Chops which I picked up this morning from the
butchers; the street awnings are going up all along Calle Mar in time for the
‘Vendimia’ next weekend, the festival is over three days this year from the
Friday to the Sunday starting with a ‘Flamenco’ Concert on the stage outside
the Town Hall, speaking to two of the councilors this morning on the steps of
the Town Hall Marcus the man in charge of the financial business said that they
might have to build the wine press in its usual spot at the top of out street
opposite Bar Rojas if the new one is not going to ready in time in the new
square! Watch this space!
Later this
evening we watch the news and weather and then catch a film.In fact we watched some live football on TVE1 which did not kick off until 11-00pm - it was the first leg of the 'Spanish SuperCup' with Athletico Madrid v Barcelona,it was 1-1 on the night with the second leg next week up in Barcelona. meanwhile over in Turkey Arsenal beat Fenerbahce 3-0 in a 'Champions League' qualification play-off and in England Chelsea beat Aston Villa 2-1
Thought for
the Day; See above.
