WEDNESDAY
22nd/ MAY 2013.
This
morning we caught the bus down to Sabinillas, as we got to the bus stop next to
the new park they had just started on the wall display; they are using
individual tiles not small mosaic ones so it is going up quickly as you can see
in the pictures below. The sun is out and it is already hot, 23degs and rising!
The reason
that we went down to Sabinillas was to go to the phone shop were we bought
Brenda’s new phone as the gentleman was very helpful and spoke a little
English; I got him to have a look at my mobile as the ‘Jazztel’ help system
does not have a English helpline, he has sorted the phone out for me by totally
resetting the system but that means that I now have to install all over again
all my connections ie. Facebook, Skype, Googlemail, Sextonstravels, Internet
etc! The good news is that the contacts list is fine – watch this space.
We then
went and found the new English tea shop that has opened called “Vetty’s” which
is just behind the sea front, we had a proper cup of tea from the pot with tea
strainer and fresh milk – I also had a very nice Smoked Gammon Bap – all the
fresh homemade cakes and scones on display look very appetizing for another day! See the picture above.
This
afternoon I will be watching the ‘Giro d’Italia’ stage 17 which is from Caravaggio
to Vicenza over 214kms – the stage is flat for the first 190kms but there is
then a short/sharp climb before the dash downhill to the finish 16kms away! A
possible Cavendish win?! Not to be, the climb caught him out - the Italian rider Giovanni Visconti wins the stage, his second in this years tour!
Brenda has
more washing out as it is a good drying day and she is also catching up with
ironing, so I’ am keeping out of the way in the office! This afternoon I bumped into our friend Barbara and we are now going around to her house in the early evening as her husband Peter set up my mobile when I first got it - it is past me so hopefully he will get it sorted out ! Watch this space.
This
evening for supper we are having Baked Pork Chop with Boulangere Potatoes,
Cabbage with Alselgas and Carrots before we settle down to watch a bit of TV.
Thoughts
for the Day;
Luck is
believing you’re lucky. Luck never
gives; it only lends. Luck never made a
man wise. The only sure thing about luck is that it will change.
