FRIDAY 10th/
MAY 2013
As usual on
a Friday morning we shot down to Sabinillas for the shopping; the forecast for
today is 31degs, yesterday it reached 34degs! Over the weekend it is going a
little cooler, last night is was hot and we are changing over to our summer
bedding and bathrobes!
When we got
back we went for a walk with the dog down to the market for some fresh flowers
but he was not there as his van had broken down; on the way back we called into
our butchers and picked up some Steak for Saturday and English style Pork Chops
for our Sunday dinner.
Mano and
Anna called in at lunchtime for their papers and a chat,Mano is back in work,
full-time next week; he is making his plans for Saturday to watch the Cup Final
over in England with Carlos at the hotel, its Manchester City v Wigan – late kick of. Over here Barcelona play Atl.Madrid in Madrid on Sunday, so the could win ‘La
Liga’ if they win! The Spanish Grad Prix is in Barcelona this weekend; Alonso is giving it
his all so watch out for a Spanish win. This afternoon I’ am going to watch the
‘Giro d’Italia’ stage 7 from San Salvo to Pescara on the Adriatic coast over
177kms – lots of climbs and descents, a bit like a rollercoaster!
PS; What a stage - the weather played a huge part,it was bucketing down and on all four of the descents riders came off - including on the last one 'Sir Bradley' Oh dear! He has lost over 1 minutes and 20 seconds and is down to 23rd! The race was won by the Australian rider Adam Hansen who broke away with 130kms to go and was not caught! Tomorrow is a 55km Time Trial - will Wiggins be fit to ride? Yes he is OK!

This
evening for dinner we are having fresh Pink Trout fillets again with Sautéed
potatoes and Hollandaise sauce; Brenda has just come in from her local shopping
down in our street with a load of fresh local Peas in the pod; so Tomorrow
morning I ‘am going to make a ‘Pea Frittata’ for lunch with a’ Beef Tomato’
vinaigrette.
Tonight it
is film night on lots of the channels so we will find one to watch later. We found a harrowing film called " Human Trafficking "from a USA mini-TV series from 2005 - Mia Sevino and Donald Southerland as the FBI agents and our own Robert Carlyle as the 'Baddie'
Thought for
the Day; See above for ‘Fridays’
