SATURDAY 11Th/
MAY 2013.
The day
started with a sea mist but later the sun broke through as the day went on; we
had a lazy morning, I retired to the office to watch ‘Saturday Morning Kitchen’
and Brenda pottered about! We went for a walk with the dog at lunchtime and when we
got back we had the ‘Pea Frittata’ that I had made earlier with a very nice
local ‘Beef Tomato’ Vinaigrette ,the secret is to slice the Tomato very thin
and chop the Onions in a fine dice!
In the
afternoon it was sports time! First I caught the Grand Prix qualifying from the
Spanish Grand Prix; Roseberg took the poll and his Mercedes team mate Hamilton
was second. On the large PC I followed the ‘Giro d’Italia’Time Trial over 55kms
from Gabicce to Mare-Saltra – a English man won, but not the one we wanted too,
Alex Dowsett, the British Time Trial champion was first and over shadowed Sir
Bradley who was ten seconds behind him after a puncture! Vincenzo Nibali is in
the Pink jersey and Wiggins is up to 4th but 1min 16 seconds behind
in the overall standings.
It was then
time for the FA Cup Final from Wembley;I watched the ITV coverage on the small
PC - Wigan v Manchester City – it kicked
off in the sun and ended in a downpour, I’ am sorry to say that City did not
play well, some of their ‘Star’ players did not turn up for the game – terrible
!! Wigan deserved the win when they scored
in the 93 minute 1-0 ! They played the better football and controlled the game
– sorry Mano and Carlos – goodbye ‘Mancini’ !!
In the
evening for supper we had ‘Steak a la Plancha’with sautéed Mushrooms, sliced
Green Beans and crisp French Fries before we settled down and channel hopped.
PS; As I
have been typing this I have been watching on the small PC the BBCTV coverage
of the ‘Spanish Grand Prix – Alonso has just won, as I forcast, the Spanish
commentator downstairs on the TVE1 channel is going crazy!
Thought for
the Day;
Be like a
flower and turn your face to the sun.
