MANILVA ON A GOOD NEWS DAY

WEDNESDAY 8th/ MAY 2013

We were up bright and breezy this morning as I had an appointment at the hospital over in Marbella with my Prostrate Consultant; as we walked into his office he said - well we have some good news – your readings are all good and your ‘PSA’ reading is down and fine, see you in six months! In at 12-00 and out at 12-02pm!!

Today is even hotter as there is no breeze 27/28degs and rising. Brenda is planning to go out on the roof terrace after lunch and I’ am retiring to the office to watch the ‘Giro d’Italia’ and will then join her later as the sun moves around.Germany,s John Degenkolb took the victory in stage 5 from Cosenza to Matera over 203kms ,at the foot of Italy, after a dramatic crash on the last corner in the greasy conditions- no changes in the overall all standings.

We heard from Jack and Lyn this morning before we left; they have booked their flight to Gibraltar on Wednesday 19th June so it is now up to Norah and Jenny to try and get on the same flight ASAP – we have now arranged the hire car for the week that they are here, its an ‘Opel’ that seats 7 people! I have also confirmed the booking at Manilva Green Aparthotel for a large apartment for Jack and Lyn.

This evening for supper it’s one of our simple meals; flattened Breast of Chicken cooked on the griddle with thick sliced baked sautéed potatoes and Green Beans.I actually Bread crumbed them (Schnitzel's) as our neighbour passed in some fresh Lemons off the tree in her Campo this afternoon!We will then channel hop and find a film to watch.

It was " The Thomas Crown Affair " from 1999 - the re-make with Pierce Brosnan in the title role,Rene Russo in the Faye Dunaway role from the original 1968 film,Dennis Leary,Ben Gazzara and a cameo part played by Faye Dunaway!

Thought for the Day;

A lack of exercise robs the body of an essential ingredient.
