WEDNESDAY 20th/ JUNE 2012
We set off to the hospital on the far side of Marbella in plenty of time along the coast road as the tolls on the ‘ Payaje ’are now in their summer high; the Consultant is very friendly and laid-back and soon confirmed the good news, all my Prostrate tests are positive and everything is looking good ; then came the not so good news which showed up on the X-Ray, it looks like,hopefully,that I have an Kidney Stone ! This means that next week on Wednesday it’s back to the hospital for an “ Urografia Intravenosa ” They gave me a full-page instruction sheet which we had Mano and this morning our local chemist translate and explain to us ! It starts with a 48 hr diet regime which cuts out everything that I like and contains everything that I don’t like !! Then it’s onto a 24hr liquid diet and on the evening before a 2litre water intake slowly every 15mins which contains a laxative solution !! It’s not finished as early on the morning of the procedure I have to be given ( By Brenda ! ) a “ Fisioenema ”!!!! before setting off to the hospital. On arrival I then have to have an injection to prepare me for the camera !!!!! Oh dear – watch this space. On the way back we called into our bank in Estepona and then picked up some English essentials from the Supermarket. In the evening we went down to the new theatre in the Wine Centre to watch the concert of the children of the School of Music – it was packed and it was also very hot in the auditorium as the air-condition system had not been turned on !! So we did not stay too long and that’s why there are only a few pictures below ! We called into ‘ Bodega Augustine ’for a cool drink and Tapas ( Seafood Marie Rose and Potatoes in Garlic Mayonnaise ) where ‘ Monica always looks after us very well .The it was up to Bar Rojas for supper- sat under the Sonbrajo as we had ‘ Bocadillo of Pork ( In a crisp small roll ) for Brenda and I had ‘ Lomo a la Plancha with Patatas Fritas ’ which came with a whole Lemon to squeeze on the Pork Fillet slices – Mmmmm ! The picture above show the Tableau down on the beach in Sabinillas being constructed ready for Saturday’s “ Noche De San Juan ” when it will be burnt down at mid-night !
PS; We are all geared up for Brenda’s birthday celebrations on Friday which starts tonight with our ‘ Fish and Chip’ supper out ! See the pictures above sat in the shade eating Fish and Chips - 31 degs !
Thought or the Day;
In the end, it is the person you become, not the things you have achieved , that is the most important.
