MANILVA MID WEEK.

TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY 12th/13th JUNE 2012.

It is just getting hotter and hotter each day and now the nights are also going warmer; Tuesday was an at home day as Brenda pottered about the house and I caught up on the WWW.At lunchtime Anna, Sally and Dylan called in on their way home from picking him up from school, we had a good news catch up and gossip. Brenda is now on the roof terrace every afternoon mostly under the shade and I spend the time in the office until the early evening when I go up and join her for cocktails! We then watch the early match from the UEFA EURO 2012, on Tuesday it was Greece v Czech’s which the Czech’s won 2-1 and then the later game was the grudge match between Russia and Poland – which ended 1-1. For supper we had Pork Cutlets with Boulangere Potatoes and then caught the late news on TVE1.

On Wednesday morning we were up bright and breezy as I had an appointment with our Doctor to get the results of my check up; it turns out that everything is working normal and my Prostrate figures are down which is good news for next weeks appointment with the consultant at the hospital for the two-yearly check up ! My sugar readings are a little high so the recommendation is to stay on the tablets, more exercise, loose some weight, drink more water and relax!! When we got back we took the car around to the garage to get a new screen wash bottle fitted and at the same time he also fitted a new indicator/light column on the steering wheel so we are now ready for the ‘ITV ( MOT ) in November - fingers crossed !! We have just washed the car around in the back street behind our house, in the shade, by the small square where we park it – you don’t need to dry it – it dries it’s self! The first game in the evening was Denmark v Portugal – the Portuguese won 3-2 after the substitute Varela scored and spared Ronaldo’s blushes as he had missed two open goals earlier!! The next game was another classic – Germany v Holland – classy Gomez scored twice in the 2-1 win for the Germans. On Thursday evening it is Spain v R.of Ireland and Italy v Croatia – watch this space. We are now getting closer to the third round group matches when it is all to play for as the top two only go through to the next stage; these games are played at the same time so that the teams can’t manipulate the results to fix their places in the next round ! For supper we had flattened pan-fried Turkey Escalope in a Lime Butter sauce with sliced Green Beans and square cut crisp Chips and the homemade rich Tomato sauce on the side !

Thought for the Day;

Rowing harder doesn’t help if the boat is headed in the wrong direction.
