I was up very early this morning and after
a quick freshen up I shot off down to Sabinillas, as the sun was coming up
above the calm & dark Mediterranean, as you can see in the pictures below.
I was lucky and found a spot to park next
to the main ‘ Medical Centre ‘ for my appointment for my Blood Test, which is
for my six-month review/check up with the ‘Prostate Consultant’ across at the ‘
Costa Del Sol Hospital ‘ past Marbella at the start of December.
We are back down this evening for our
yearly ‘ Gripe- Anti-Flu ‘ Injections, I had more luck when I came back up to
the village as I found a spot to park in the lower square below out street!
Hopefully I will be back in the underground car park next week, when it’s due
to re-open, watch this space.
I then made our breakfast as I was on the
today’s ‘Rota’ – a ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty’ - smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce, for me – open on brown for Brenda with mugs of hot
tea.
We also managed to get the ' Music Quiz' correct answer as we were listening to the ' Andrew Charles Breakfast Show ' on " Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW " - it was a seven second backwards clip - it was " The Rolling Stones " with 'Street Fightin' Man ' - we are in the draw on Friday morning, again!

I then got this evenings supper on the go,
a “ Beef & Vegetable Stew “ with ‘ Herb Dumplings ‘ – I tossed the diced Beef in seasoned flour and then
browned it off, at the same time I started on the stew, I sweated-off the ‘
Diced Onions & Shallots with crushed Garlic, adding a dash of ‘ Lea &
Perrins & Tabasco’ – then adding the ‘ Diced Carrots, Leeks, Celery &
Turnips, along with Baby Button Mushrooms ( tinned) – before a glass of ‘
Brenda’s Red Wine is added, along with a large spoon of ‘Tomato Frito’ and the
seasoning adjusted, the ‘ browned-off Beef is then added to the pot along with
a rich ‘Beef & Vegetable Stock’ and left to ‘cook-off’ under the eagle eye
of the ‘ Second Chef’ – this evening when we return I will add the ‘Herb Dumplings’
to the Stew, to let them slowly cook, it will be served with ‘ Cabbage with
Acelgas’ ( Swiss Chard) and ‘Parsley New Potatoes’ – the aromas are wafting upstairs
to the office/studio!

“ Comfort Food to Die For “
This morning the sun slowly broke through,
the sky has now cleared with just a few high clouds hanging around, there is a
light/cooling breeze, so by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 18/19 degs+ - it’s
then going a little cooler up to and over the weekend, as the breeze stiffens,
with the threat of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ in the air, dropping down to 14/15 degs-
during the night as low as 7/8 degs! Next week is looking like we are in for
more of the same, staying cold & wet as the cooling & windy ‘Atlantic’
front settles in, hovering in the mid ‘ teens’ - with light to moderate rain
possible all week, watch this space.
Today one of my memories from Liverpool
back in the late 50s/early 60s ! The ‘
Exchange Railway Station’ – one of four terminal stations in the City, it
became redundant in the late 70s, being replaced by the nearby new ‘ Moorfields’ underground station.
It was the station on our side of Liverpool,
so we used it a lot to go into town, on the ‘Electric Railway’ from Orrell
Park, which also went up to Ormskirk, where we had family ( Uncle –mums brother
& Aunt ) – you could also change at Sandhills station onto the ‘Electric
Railway’ to Southport! ( Crosby & Formby Beach our favourites)
My Dad used to take me to see the ‘
Wrestling ‘ at the ‘ Liverpool Stadium’ – around the corner from the station,
on a Friday evening, to see Mick
McManus, Pat Roach, Les Kellett, Big
Daddy ( Shirley Crabtree) Giant Haystacks, El Bandito ( Orig Williams) Kendo
Nagasaki & Count Bartelli !
“ Happy Days & Many Memories “
Yesterday evening after supper we settled
down to watch the first episode of “ Gold Digger “ – a ‘racy’ tale of a wealthy
60-year-old mother of three, ( Julia Ormond) - now divorced, her ex-husband
living with her best friend, who falls
for a tall, dark & handsome, mysterious, man, ( Ben Barnes ) who is 25
years her junior! With five ‘VERY’ steamy clinches in the first hour! Her two
sons and daughter all have relationship problems as the story unfolds, at the
end of the episode we see the ‘ new’ man rehearsing his groom’s speech, one
year later, an evil glint in his eye as he says ... ‘ and what’s yours is mine’
! Drama, sexual intrigue and dark
secrets all to come. Watch this space.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
