After all the excitement of yesterday
afternoon we had a nice lie in this morning before freshening up, we then had a
quick toast & tea before getting today’s ‘Roast’ on the go.
A ‘ Roast Top-Side of Beef ‘ – boned &
rolled – cooked on a bed of ‘Mixed Vegetable Trivets’ etc, in a very hot oven, then
left to rest, ‘ Pink no Blood’! The par-boiled potatoes, sliced in half, are
tossed in the hot ‘ Goose-Fat’ – ready to go in the oven this evening, served
with ‘ Yorkshire Puddings and of course my famous ‘ finger-licking’ Pan Gravy,
with Broccoli & Cauliflower Florets in a three-Cheese Sauce, Crushed Carrots & Turnips, Cabbage with
Acelgas, Braised Leeks in a Cream Sauce & Garden Peas, all from the ‘
Second Chef’!
‘ Big Brian’ is hopefully joining us later,
first, to help me register online for the new ‘OliveNet’ Internet system, then
for his supper with us.
Today it’s rather cold & overcast with
lots of black rain clouds on the horizon, unlike yesterday when we had the most
perfect ‘ crisp & clear ‘ sunny day, by this afternoon we could be in for
some of the ‘Wet-Stuff’ as its only reaches 14 degs+ next week is now looking
very wet & windy, as the next ‘ Atlantic’ front hits us, hovering in the
mid ‘ teens’ – 14/16 degs, - overnight down to 9/11 degs, the rain will be
moderate to heavy at times, with a few patchy clouds hanging around, the
following week is looking the same, watch this space.
In ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ next week we only
have little ‘ Miss Bella’ with us on Monday/Tuesday, as usual ‘ Chispa’ has
been in & out all weekend, looking for her friends.
We have a quiet ‘ at home week’ – taking things
easy and relaxing , keeping as warm as possible, we had a ‘ Facebook’ message,
overnight, from Sandra & Bill, over in a very cold, to stay, early ‘Winter’
Sadly Bill’s Mum lost her battle with
Dementia and passed away, peacefully. We are thinking of both of you and please
give our deep condolences to Bill and his Son, Dylan and all the family.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
