I was up very early this morning and after
a quick freshen up I shot off on my travels, down to Sabinillas, for our weekly
shopping, as the large ‘ Red Sun’ was appearing across the horizon above the
Mediterranean, as I was passing through the vine fields.
I first called into ‘ItZabar’ for my usual
toast & tea before ‘ Mercadona opened, for the last time until the 5th
December, as their refurbishment takes place, I spoke to the Manager, he confirmed
that the old Chinese Shoe shop, next to the main entrance, will be a cafeteria/restaurante,
when they re-open! Watch this space.
I stopped at the ‘ English Bookshop’ for the
local newspapers, before going along to the far-end of the promenade to the
local market for our fresh flowers & wall plants, I then called in to ‘
Super Sol’ for the English ‘ essentials, next on my travels, I came back along
the coast road back to the offices of ‘ Helicopteros Sanitarios’ to settle the
half-yearly account for our ‘ Emergency Health Care Cover’ – before dropping
down to the ‘Puerto de la Duquesa Marina’ to call into the ‘ English Butchers’
for some stock for the deep freeze!
After unloading back at the house I popped
along to our local Bank, in ‘ Calle Mar’ to pay the electricity bill.
Meanwhile back at the house Brenda had
taken ‘ Winnie’ out for her first walk of the day, around the bottom of the
village, she slept all night across the foot of our bed, she’s due to be picked
up on Monday lunchtime, she will then fly back to the Wirral, before her flight
to Dubai to start her new life with her family!
On Monday/Tuesday little ‘ Miss Bella’ is
back with us as usual, then on Wednesday evening ‘ Lola’ is back with us for a
seven day holiday, the following week ‘ Scruffy’ is joining us for a sleep-over
just as ‘Sunny’ returns for her two-week holiday, it’s all happening in ‘ Doggy
World Heaven ‘ Watch this space.
It was grey & overcast, with dark
clouds and a light breeze this morning, as the sun came up, by lunchtime, as
the sun attempts to break through, it’s due to reach 23 degs+ - the threat of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ is still in
the air, over the weekend staying dry with patchy clouds, next week is looking
mixed, dry at times, with patchy clouds, the sun out most of the time, hovering
on the 22 degs+ mark - overnight down to 15/16 degs, on Monday/ Tuesday we
could be in for moderate to heavy rain, then settling down for the rest of the week, watch this space.
For our supper this evening we are having ‘
Goujons of Hake Fillet in a Cruzcampo Beer Batter’ – shallow fried in Vegetable
Oil, served with lots of Lemon wedges and homemade ‘ Tartar’ sauce and triple-cooked
‘ Chips’ - with Garden Peas, as ‘Super Sol’ has not re-stocked the classic ‘
Batchelors Mushy Peas’
This afternoon/ evening we will be channel
hopping as the ‘ IPTV’ system is back online and fully working, as we catch up
with all the programmes that we follow. Watch this space.
NB; This weekend here in Spain it’s a ‘Bank
Holiday’ as tomorrow it’s the “ Fiesta
Nacional de EspaƱa “ – ‘ Hispanic/ Columbus Day’ when they celebrate
Christopher Columbus discovering the ‘ Americas’ back in 1492!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
