ANOTHER WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY;

SATURDAY 19^th/ DECEMBER 2015.

We were up this morning in our own time after a little lie in, a treat for breakfast was called for so we had Crispy Smoked Bacon with Campo’ Fried Eggs ( boiled for Brenda! ) with lots of buttered toast and a mug of steaming tea; I then settled down to watch ‘Saturday Kitchen Live’ on BBC 1 – this afternoon I will be watching the Horse Racing on Channel 4.

We have another beautiful day here in sunny Manilva and down on the ‘Costa Del Sol’ The sun was out early and the sky is blue, there is no breeze and by lunchtime its due to reach nearly 23 degs – its now the warmest December on record as well as the driest as the hot weather fronts come up the Atlantic coast from West Africa, the same fronts are what are giving the UK its very unseasonal weather also!

'Chispa' has been here all morning running in and out waiting for 'Barny' to arrive on his two week holiday,then tomorrow 'Reina is with us for a sleep over and back for Monday,Tuesday & Wednesday - oh and yes 'Charlie' is due on Monday for his regular Xmas tow week stay! In the New Year at the end of January 'Reina' is going to be with us for five days a week - Monday/Friday!

For our supper this evening we are having a Grilled ‘Rib of Beef’ cooked on a very hot griddle plate ‘Med-Rare’ which I will then take off the bone and carve into thick slices ‘ French Style’ - I will serve lots of  ‘Bearnaise’ sauce on the side, garnished with ‘turned’ Baby Mushrooms & finely sliced Green Beans and of course twice-cooked ‘Chips’!! 

 

Tomorrow we are having a ‘Roast Leg of New Zealand Lamb’ studded with Garlic Cloves & Rosemary, proper finger-licking Gravy, and accompanied with a large dish of ‘Boulangere’ Potatoes and no doubt lots of seasonal vegetables! Not forgetting the ‘Mint Sauce’!!

On the sports front this weekend over in England in the ‘Premiere League’ Everton welcome Leicester today, tomorrow Liverpool travel down the M1 to Watford and then on Monday Manchester City make the same journey to play Arsenal, over here in ‘La Liga’ Real Madrid welcome Rayo Vallecano but Barcelona are over in Japan playing in the Final of the ‘FIFA Club World Cup’ against River Plate?! Tomorrow on BBC TV its the ’ Personality of the Year’ with Andy Murray the favourite to win.

This evening we will be watching the Final of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ – for the first time – as the last four celebrity’s have to dance three times before the public vote for the winner! Last night we had an evening on British TV channel hopping.
