A VERY SUNNY & WARM MALAGA ON THURSDAY;

THURSDAY 10th/ DECEMBER 2015.

After a light breakfast we sorted ourselves out and set off on our travels; we caught the bus down at the bottom of the village by the roundabout, one of two, as there was a good response to the trip to Malaga to go to the ‘Centre Pompidou Malaga’ and then see the Xmas lights.

As we set off from sunny Manilva it was a little overcast & windy but as we travelled along the coast it picked up and by the time we reached Malaga it was warm and sunny with clear blue skies! There was even people sunbathing on the beach and swimming in the sea!!

We then went around the Pompidou Gallery in our own time, in the first set of pictures that I have posted above it will give you a little ‘taste’ and the atmosphere, we could have done  with the knowledge & expertise of a Fine Arts expert to explain the meaning of ‘life and so on?! ‘Josie’ come back all is forgiven!! In the set of pictures Brenda appears in a ‘Cameo’ role ‘ try and spot her!

We then walked along the Marina walk as one of the largest super yachts in the World set off into the unknown “ Octapus “ is over 414 feet long and is owned by the Co-Founder of ‘Microsoft’ Paul Allen; see the pictures below.

We took in all the sights and sounds of the different restaurant’s, from ‘Michelin’ star to McDonalds, mostly with ‘sales pimps’ chasing you, as we walked along the front in the very hot sunshine we ended up at the far end by the lighthouse in a ‘Spanish Restaurante’ which was very busy with a  Spanish customers, always a good sign! “ Toro “ Spanish Taste; in front of the restaurant on the quayside is a rather different super yacht ‘La Sultana’  which was built in Bulgaria in 1962 and to start with was a Soviet Spy Ship during the cold war! Its now an exclusive private yacht for 12 persons  to hire for over 250,000 pounds a week!! You can see it in the set of pictures above of the meal:

To start with we had the ‘Prawns Pil Pil’ to share, which was excellent and a large portion with very nice Prawns, which came with a fresh baked sliced Loaf! For the main course Brenda had the Local Catch of the Day ‘ Turbot-Rodaballo’ – which was three Grilled Fillets resting on a selection of ‘Aldente’ local vegetables, Brenda was very happy, the fish and the vegetables were perfect with her White Wine, a fresh and crisp Sauvigon Blanc was just right.

For my main course I had a ‘Entrecote Steak’ cooked ‘Med-Rare’ on the Charcoal Grill with some excellent Goose Fat ‘Frits’ along with small Vine Tomatoes & Baby Green Pepper’s, it was one of the finest steaks that I’ve ever had, that’s saying something, it was cooked perfect as you can see and tasted divine, the fat was sweet and the steak was succulent!! What a memorable ‘Helluva’ executive ‘al fresco’ lunch out sat in the warm sunshine – we shall return! We ended the meal with Xmas sweet pastries along with a small glass of chilled Aniseed,all on the house!!

It was then time to head off back into the center of the city so we jumped into a taxi which took us along to the main shopping area of ‘Calle  Marques De Larios’ where we hit the shops, I found the most expensive ’ Men’s Shoe Shop’ and spotted a pair of very nice shoes, sadly we could not afford them so we went and found the next to most expensive shop where I found a similar pair for a third of the price cheaper! Thanks Brenda for my special Xmas present – see the picture below;

We then stopped in ‘Calle Larios’ for a nice drink and took in the sights and sounds as we waited for the lights to come, when they do the crowds brake into applause! It  was then time to make our way back down to the port to catch our bus back home ( 8 hours later!)  so we took the chance to go on the “ Mirador Princess” which is Europe’s largest Intinerant Ferris Wheel – three time round on the ‘Pensioners’ rate!!Finally we settled into a local Bar/ Cafe for a couple more drinks before we set off home feeling no pain!! See the pictures above of Malaga and the Ferris Wheel.
