We were up early this morning and grabbed a
quick breakfast before ‘Reina’ arrived for a sleep over; we then shot out down
to Sabinillas for our weekly shopping, the first call was the ‘Ferreteria’s’
for some‘Super Glue’( broken handle on the oven door!) light bulbs and a new
washing line.
Next after collecting the local newspapers
we hit ‘Mercadona’ for our main shop; we then called into the English Butchers
for some ‘Goodies’ before going along the promenade for plants and flowers, on
the way back I topped up the car with petrol and gave it a quick jet wash ready
for our lunch out on Sunday.

“ GENERAL
ELECTION NEWS UPDATE”
On Sunday the 20th December its
the General Election here in Spain ( every 4 years) This time it will be very
different as there are two new parties to set the old system upside down; after
the election 4 years ago they arrived on the political scene, since democracy
started here in around 1975 after the death of Franco it was a two party system
with the ‘PP’ Conservative Party, the Government now, the ‘PSOE’ Labour Party
and to a lesser extent the ‘IU’ Communist Party!
So now we have the ‘Podemos – We Can’ Party
and the ‘Ciudadanos – Citizen Party’ They have made giant inroads at the
Regional elections earlier this year, here in Spain there are 17 Autonemous region’s self governed by a President and
Parliament, in all the major cities they by going into coalition with the other
parties took over the running of the local Councils. So its going to be a very
exciting and important election and could see a possible change in Government. Watch
this space.
