We started
the week with a nice long lie in despite the workmen on the site and the
Council ‘cherry picker’ fixing all the lights under the canopy in Calle Mar!
The sun is out and the sky is blue, there is a little breeze which makes it
rather pleasant for the time of the year, its 33 degs today but by the weekend
its going up to 37/38 degs, back to normal for now.
After our
usual breakfast we sorted ourselves out for the week ahead; in ‘Doggy World
Heaven’ ‘Reina is back with us on Tuesday & Thursday and then ‘Scruffy’ is
here on Saturday for a sleep over.
We are
going out on Wednesday morning to Estepona with Josie & Lillemor as we need
to call into our bank for some business, no doubt some shopping will then
happen before we go across to San Pedro for a light al fresco ‘Tapas’ lunch on
the ‘Boulevard’ at ‘Bar Calderon’ or at our favorite Restaurant “ Cocomo”
On Friday
morning we are down in Sabinillas for our weekly shopping, the rest of the
week, at the moment, is free; I popped along to the local bank in Calle Mar to
pay the Electricity bill and on the way back collected some prescription
tablets from the chemists, the Water bill can wait for now!
We then
rang our bank in Colwyn Bay to arrange the transfer of our two
yearly Pension Annuities; sadly the ‘Euro’ is still down this morning so they
were a little lower than last year! There is another monthly one due in next
Monday, so fingers crossed for a better rate then!! It's the fault of the 'Chinese' this time !!
We are
taking each day as it comes on the menu planning, this evening we are having
Cold Lamb with a fry-up of the leftover Vegetables & Potatoes, we will then
find something to keep us going in the fashion that we are accustomed too, no
doubt, for the rest of the week and over the weekend!
On the
sports front over the weekend; Hamilton ran away to win the ‘Belgian Grand
Prix’ at Spa, in the Tennis over in Cincinnati in the ‘USA’ Federer and Serena
Williams won; over in England in the ‘Premiere League’ Everton lost at home to
Manchester City 0-2 while over here in ‘La Liga’ Real Madrid could only draw
0-0 at the newly promoted ‘minnows’ Sporting De Gijon, meanwhile Barcelona went
back to the ‘Cathedral’ and beat Atl. Bilbao 0-1 even after Messi missed a
penalty!
Stage 2 of
the ‘Vuelta d’Espana 15’ yesterday was from Alhourin de Torre, over 159 kms, to
the top of the spectacular ‘Caminito Del Rey’ – the Columbian rider Esteban
Chaves won and gained the race leaders ‘Red Jersey’ – there was a serious crash
and the Italian Champion Vincente Nibali was caught up in the mayhem , as he
chased to get back to the main pack of the leaders he was helped by his team
car when to took hold of it ,it was spotted by the helicopters and he was then
disqualified! Today’s Stage 3 is from Mijas to Malaga over 158 kms, with a stiff climb in
the middle of the route, before a flat sprint finish in the city!
We will be
having our ‘Happy Hour’ as normal as we catch up with our reading and listen to
the local radio station or play a CD; After supper we will then catch up with
all the world news, sport updates and the weather forecasts on ‘TVE 1’ ( like
BBC 1) before finding something to watch.
PS; We went
and had a look at the ‘Photographic’ exhibition in the Gallery of the Wine
Museum yesterday lunchtime –it turned out to be by just one local photographer
‘Sonia Mateo Moreno’ and showed her in various pictures with her boyfriend –
see above.
Thoughts
for the Day; See above.
