SUNDAY 9th/ AUGUST 2015.
Another nice lie in this morning as the village is dead, the 'Feria' was still rocking down in the valley at 5-00 am this morning! Its still very warm at night, with a lot more to come, so sleeping is difficult to say the least,you end up stuck to the sheets and everywhere you touch is sticky! See below a picture taken by Den this morning of the 'Sunrise' over the village!
For breakfast we treated our selves to 'Smoked Bacon Butties' with a mug of Tea; at lunchtime we are going up to ' Bar Castillo' for our regular 'Paella' made by Juan's wife Paqui,she arrives with it at 2-00 pm and its all gone by 2 15 pm!
Then this evening for our supper I'm making my special " Smoked Chicken & Broad Bean Risotto" using Spanish 'Arroz Redondo' from Valencia, I saute off some finely chopped Onion,without color, add the rice and deglaze the pan with a good slug of White Wine( Brenda's) Then its time to slowly add the rich Chicken & Vegetable stock, stirring all the time, when the rice is still 'Aldente' I add the cooked & skinned Broad Beans( Brenda) along with the diced cooked Smoked Chicken, and season to taste as it finishes cooking,at the end I drop in a good hand full of Parmesan Cheese !See below;
In 'Calle Mar' this afternoon and into the evening there are two bands playing which unusually have been arranged and paid for by the local bars 'Rojas,Castillo,Nacho,Ocana & Plaza'! They approached the Town Hall and were told that they had no money in the 'coffers'?! So to create some much needed extra business they took matters into their own hands!!
They started just as we arrived at Bar Castillo for our Paella,on the stage in front of the Town Hall there was a Lady 'Karaoke' singer and on the stage by 'Bar Luque' at the top of 'Calle Mar' it was a two piece 'Combo' - see below.
Over the weekend we have decided to create a 'Roof Top Patio in the Sky' after the walls have been rendered and painted (White,hopefully) We are going to hang assorted wall pots with hardy plants and along the bottom some decorative Mosaic Tiles!! Watch this space.
Over in the UK the 'Premier League' gets into full swing as Liverpool travel down to Stoke and tomorrow Manchester City go down the M6 to play West Brom! Everton could only manage a 2-2 draw at home to Watford.yesterday; over in the USA its the Motor GP at the Indianapolis Speedway.
Later this evening after catching up with the news we will settle down to find a good film to follow.
PS; The Blog will be posted in the afternoon on Monday as we are going over to Estepona with Den & Josie in the morning!
