MONDAY 17th/
FEBRUARY 2014.
This
morning its a little overcast and grey but no damp stuff as predicted; the next
few day are fine and sunny and the temperatures are also going up! After
breakfast I shot around to the butchers for some English-cut Pork Chops for
tonight’s supper and also some Chicken Leg & Thighs boned out ready for a
Curry tomorrow.
We have
decided to extend the “Gastronomic Food Festival” due to its success over the
weekend! So tonight we are having the English-cut ‘Pork Chops’ baked in the
oven and served with a fry-up of leftover vegetables and the rest of the ‘
Boulangere’ potatoes along with a very sharp and piquant classic ‘Charcutiere’
sauce that I have just made; then tomorrow evening we are having another
classic – “Chicken Curry” with Basmati Rice – my curry is made from scratch to
an old recipe from a Liverpool curry restaurant in Chinatown that I used to
frequent back in the 60s!
This morning we shot down to Sabinillas for some essential shopping and took the dog with us as she loves going out in the car! When we came back we then went for a short walk along Calle Mar as you can see in the pictures above, they have now put up a sign on the wall above the water feature and two'Nymphs' and finished the fence - nearly ready!
Tomorrow
night Josie is joining us for the first time for supper, we are having some
light ‘Tapas’ to start and then my ‘Crepes a la Mode’ for dessert – we are
looking forward to welcoming her to our house. Yesterday I had an E-Mail from a
couple of people who follow the Blog and left a message on the new ‘Blogger-
Dashboard’ – I replied and answered some questions about the area ,they sent us
a nice ‘Newsy’ update and had even visited sunny Manilva when they were here
recently! Mick &Sue so nice to hear from you and please come and see us
next time that you are here!!
Last night
we channel hopped and finally settled on a ‘James Bond film with Piers
Brosnan, earlier in the evening we watched on TVE 2 a very good and interesting
documentary that we have been following on Sunday evening’s presented by Joanna
Lumley about her journey up the full length of the ‘River Nile’ to its source !
It is fascinating and at the same time informative with Joanna presenting in
her own tongue in the cheek ‘Style’! One to catch.
Thought for
the Day; See above.
