CRISP AND WARM IN SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY;

THURSDAY 20th/ FEBRUARY 2014.

It’s another great day here in sunny Manilva; the sky is blue, the sun is out and there is just a little breeze, the temperature by lunchtime is reaching 20 degs! We have just come back from our walk with dog, for a while we sat in Calle Mar taking in the sunshine and watching the world go by! They have very nearly finished the new small ‘Plaza’ as you can see, this morning the new plant pots arrived and all the painting is finished, down in the new passage way they have tiled the long seat and are at this moment braking holes in the walls to put doorways and large windows in ?! – Watch this space.

This evening for supper we are having a special “Mixed Grill” from everything that I can find in the deep-freeze and with a little top up from the butchers! Lamb Cutlets, Calves Liver, Pork Loin, Chicken Wings, Steak, Sausages, Smoked Bacon, Mushrooms, Tomato, fried Egg with sautéed sliced Baked Potato and Diamond cut Green Beans from the vegetable Chef! Every thing is small, filleted or flattened and to top off the feast there will be Yorkshire pudding’s filled with ‘Charcutiere’ sauce!! Brenda stopped me when I suggested Baked Beans!!! See the pictures above.

FAMILY “ ANCESTRY ” – UPDATE;

Over the last couple of days our friend Josie has sent us via E-Mail various copies of Birth Certificats,Marriage Certificates, Census Forms and even a Probate record which she has very kindly found on her ‘Ancestry’ page; she has followed my father’s family back to the ‘Norman Conquest’ !! Thomas Henry Sexton – ‘Tommy’- my dad’s history particularly through his parents, grandparents and great grandparents is fascinating – the most interesting fact so far comes from the Probate record of his mother who died in 1950 and left him one thousand one hundred pounds, a considerable amount back then, as this then explains how we were able to go abroad every year from when I was five back in 1950! The holidays were always by train starting in Liverpool,
Belgium(Twice)Holland,France,Spain,Germany,Austria,Switzerland, Yugoslavia and Italy to name but a few!

Josie is also working on Brenda’s family back from her mother and father Gwladys and Walter Fitch – watch this space! At the same time she is coming up with details of my mother's parents, my grandparents,that I can just remember and also her brother,my only uncle !

Thought for the Day; See above.
